"alien abduction" is SP and HI

I saw an interesting show on National Geographic where they talked about people supposedly waking up and feeling paralyzed and sensing a presence in their room close by them and then report it as an alien abduction experience, then some sleep scientists explained in great detail the concepts of SP and HI. it was really fascinating and made a lot of sense! personally I've never been conscious during SP, but has anyone ever had an experience like that?

I wish I would have seen this show. I've had the exact same experience as what you described. I woke up to 4 aliens on the side of my bed. To make the story short, they teleported me into their spaceship and did weird stuff like disecting me and probing me etc. After a while they teleported me back to my bed. It was really freaky and it took me a long time to make myself believe that it really didn't happen. I still wonder actually...

I wasn't paralyzed though... I think It was just a false awakening or I was having super hypnagogic hallucinations. Or it really happened. It gives me the creeps thinking about it.

Interesting. But are you serious it DID happen?
There is no greater joy than soaring high on the wings of your dreams, except maybe the joy of watching a dream who has nowhere to land but in the ocean of reality.

When I was 10, I had a similar experience. Before I knew what SP was, I had a bad night where I slipped in and out of a weird paralysis about 5 times in immediate succession. The final time it happened, I had that feeling you get of dark creatures in the room with you. They took me to a shadowy place with weird amoeba creatures flying around all over the place. They held me down with some unseen force, and started ripping balls of energy out of my body. I escaped, ended up back in my room, and took off running. I ran down the street, terrified, leaped over a 7' tall wooden fence, and hid in the creek behind our house.

My family found me all scraped up & terrified, with no shoes or pants on, hiding in the water and reeds behind our house.

I later learned what Sleep Paralysis is, and I realized that it described what happened to me perfectly. The only part I don't understand is how I jumped over a 7 foot high fence. Two of my adult neighbors saw me do it, and said it was completely unreal, like special effects in a movie.

Its a coincidence that you brought this up again after so long. I was just talkiing with my mother last week, and this subject came up. She reminded me that It did not happen at night, but during the evening. I was in bed sick, and had a high fever. I'm sure the fever contributed to the hallucinations. Strange, strange.

I have a vivid memory of running past my neighbor. He was watering his yard, and as I ran by at full speed, I looked at him and yelled, "Run! Hurry!".

And I guess my family was having dinner downstairs when they just saw me run past and bolt out the door.
