      When does Rest Start?

      Basically if I sat in my bed with my eyes closed for but stayed concious would I feel rested in the morning? Does the part that you actually rest start when unconcious?

      I cannot explain the point of the question well, but I hope you guys get my drift.

      My sciene teacher back when I was in school said that when you're in bed, you're automatically getting rest. That's all she said, but I'm guessing you do get rest, but not as much as when your body falls to sleep.

      If you star perfectly still, your body would eventually fall asleep (Sleep paralysis)

      However staying fully concious for 2+hours waiting for your first dreams to begin would be extremely hard if not impossible.

      No, i'm not relating this at all to dreaming. It's just some nights I sit there and cannot fall asleep. I'm thinking due to his responce lieing there with eyes closed going into SP and crap like instead of sitting up and watching TV will make me more rested in morning.
