      Dream Monsters

I'm new here and haven't posted much yet, but I was reading through some threads a few days ago that mentioned certain dream characters that are supposed to always be evil (who have particular names, but I can't remember because this was days ago), and I always see posts about monsters and fighting monsters in dreams. There's a lot of zombies and werewolves and creatures that we're read and watched about in real life, but how many of you have had dreams about "original" monsters? By that I mean monsters that aren't typical zombies or whatnot.
Also, do any of you have enemies or monsters in dreams who keep re-appearing?

When I was younger the most "dangerous" monster in my dreams was a shiny, white hair-dryer that floated around ominously. I don't know why I was so frightened of it, but I automatically considered it the source of my nightmares and kept away from dark hallways in dreams because I knew that was where it lurked.

Another recurring "monster" in my childhood dreams was the bedroom light in my old parents' room. It was was a pink, spherical light named "Room-Room" that rotated really fast while flashing threateningly and emitting high-pitched squealing noises. In my dreams it had the nasty habit of spawning on the ceilings of all sorts of rooms when I was alone in bed.

One "original" monster from a dream I had was the "Blood Halo" which was a golden disc that floated around in the sky and caused stormy vortexes to appear in the clouds, sort of like cyclones.

Actually, I have heaps of strange monsters I've encountered in dreams, but I'd like for you guys to share!

And it would be cool to know if there are certain dream "monsters" that are common for a lot of people to dream about. Do such things exist that I haven't read about yet?

I'm certain I've had dreams featuring both stereotypical monsters and original ones (a combination, once I dreamed of Dom DeLuise as a vampire!), though most don't spring readily to mind at the moment. I don't recall any that have appeared repeatedly, though. I tend to have recurring themes rather than recurring dreams.

I can't really recall many dreams where I might have encountered some sort of original monster...I usually get zombies or demon spirits that are very similar in appearance to zombies. And once or twice I've gotten a dragon-like creature.

I guess I was just never a part of that whole "Mommy, there's a monster under my bed/in my closet!" phase of childhood, and so monsters aren't a real big part of my dreams.
