      Lack of senses?

For as long as I've lived, my dreams have consisted of only two senses - sight and sound. I never ever smell or taste anything, and I rarely have a sense of touch.

I've spoken to quite a few people about dreaming before, and it sounds a lot like it runs in my family. My father and brother both say they've never had a sense of touch in their dreams (with the exception of a fever dream my brother had once; he said it was horrible and nothing felt like it was supposed to); most of my friends seem to dream really realistically.

What I want to know - is it possible to develop a sense of touch? Is there some way I can train myself to feel things like in everyday life? I've had two dreams I can recall where I've had a sense of touch; both textures were soft like plush fur and corresponded with the objects I was in contact with.

      Does anyone know about this?

I think I have a severe case of this too, I was in a dream during winter and I couldn't feel the coldness for the life of me, I even tried to feel it.
