      long epic journeys?

anyone ever had a normal dream that just never seemed to end, like it was a long journey filled with many twists and changes in mood?

i had one of those last night, i would wake up and return to sleep and the dream would continue. i didn't feel i could actually wake up easily until the dream concluded this morning.

so much to remember, i don't know if i can write it all down..

I can't say that I've ever had such a dream (especially one that continues when I go back to sleep--envy!), though there are times when I'd like to have one, just to see what it's like. It's such a foreign concept to me when people tell their dreams and use phrases like "A few weeks later..." or "Many years after that..." because there never seem to be such huge passages of time in my dreams, at least that I can recall.

I HAVE, however, had dreams that just seemed to go ON and ON, especially in the retelling. This might be because I tend to get very detailed when writing down my dreams. I had one such dream that took me so long to write it all down, I called it something like "The Dream That Would Not Die!" *LOL*

Instead of writing the entire dream down, try to jot down notes of the most important parts first! Then fill in the details. But try not to wait too long, because letting even one day pass, you can forget a lot of what happened.

...or like when you remember a dream from earlier in the night from within the next dream. I had one where I had to give a report in front of the class on the dream that I had earlier in the night. And yes, this was probably the stupidest way to miss lucidity for me.

One dream I remember was me being chased by a helicopter. I think it was the cops, looking to arrest me (for whatever reason, I didnt care). It was at night and it had a spotlight, looking for me. It was so intense and the dream lasted for so long. I was running away, dodging behind and around cars, running through houses and at one point ended up falling and rolling down a hill for what felt like ages, only to continue running when I hit the bottom. It was so amazing, and there was so much in the dream, so much happened, and it all felt so real. Ive had this dream only twice. Both times its different but the same general idea. Such a fun dream.

I woke up feeling like I'd just spent the day at an amusement park.

I love those journey dreams. They give you that feeling of accomplishment we often lack in life.

I love those dreams too. I remember one I had about a giant battle between different animals -- I distinctly remember that I was first the storyteller, watching the battle unfolding and narrating, though shifted to become another character (which happens a lot in my dreams), one of the blue squirrels. The odd thing was that I had woken up from the pre-battle preparation segment and gone to sleep thinking of sandstorms (no clue why), and that was where the dream began, in a sandstorm, then zoomed in to find this cave in the side of a cliff, which was where the battle was held. Very odd, but definitely epic. xD

I had an epic dream one.

I've never written it down and never have to. Every detail will be with me until I die. It was like a movie.

When I get an LD and one day master it I wanna go back to that location!

yea sometimes all my dreams run together when there is a common element, be it the DC's or what im wearing, or what im trying to do. i actually had one of those dreams last night... i got drunk with my buddy and if i seperated all the different "scenes" of the dream, i would say it was at LEAST 15 dreams. and im not exagerating. i think that orange juice (lots of B6 and other stuff in it) and alcohol is really good for my dream control. lollll

Yeah, that's pretty common for me. A lot of times I'll have such an epic dream, that the person I'm telling it to asks, "Is this a dream or a book!?"

I am really, really jealous of those of you who can wake up, go about their day, and have the same dream where they left off, when they go back to sleep.

There are so many people who I just missed out of saving, who's asses I just missed out on kicking... etc.

OO, I had one today also. It didn't last too long, but it felt long. It was absolutely amazing. Especially the feeling of it all.
