Dream Recall: 1st vs. 3rd Person Dreams

Hey everyone. My recall has been pretty crappy lately and I've also noticed that my dreams have become very 3rd person-y where I'm often not even present. Normally, I dream in 1st person perspective.

My theory is that this 3rd person dreaming is somehow making it tough for me to recall a lot of detail. It seems like since I wasn't a character, it's hard for me to know exactly what was going on.

Has anyone else noticed this to be the case for them?

Happens to me too. I had a dream once where I was watching myself in the third person. I was running from the police and I hid in a dark alley then it switched to night vision and I could see myself hiding but the crazy thing is I had a high fro haircut just like this

Try sleeping on your back. I find I dream in the 3rd person most often when I'm sleeping on my side or stomach and I rarely dream in the 3rd person when I'm on my back.
