Ever been blind in a dream?

Have you ever been blind or paralyzed in a dream? I hadn't until last night. I was with my sister (and a few other dream characters) fighting this evil all-powerful mage in a room full of water. (There was no floor so it was apparently really deep) In the midst of the battle both my legs were blown off and he got me in the eyes. I wasn't blind at first and snuck into this other room (looked sorta like our pantry ) with my sister. It was at that moment I realized I could only use my arms and I literally could see NOTHING BUT DARKNESS. It was one of the weirdest things I had ever been through. I could hear my sisters heavy breathing from her wounds, and my dream-friend getting blown to bits, I could feel the water and the coldness in the air, I could smell the blood, I just couldn't see. Anyone else had something like this happen to them in a dream? It was the oddest and most helpless feeling I had ever had. P.S. If anyone is curious, I eventually got my sight back and watched the rest of my group get slaughtered (including my sis)... I was heading to my doom when I woke up. One of the saddest dreams I have ever had, rofl. (Especially since it seemed to last for a loooong time and I got somewhat attached to my team)

Ye, i get paralyzed a lot. I think it's some sort of way that brain prepares us for something like that happening in the future.

perhaps i have been blind but i haven't recalled any blind dream. Next time i get blind i will RC . I have read about blind dreams before so i guess it's not that unusual.

No, but I had a recurring theme when I was about fifteen that my vision got so bad that I couldn't see. Everything was really really blurry, I never figured out what it meant.

I've had many blind dreams, where I mostly heard and smell. In fact, many of my dream begin blind. My hearing and smelling were ultra-sharp in these dreams too..

Most of the time it's paralyzed, I can't recall ever being blind in a dream. If I was, I didn't see anything. I hate being paralyzed in dreams, usually I'm vomitting and trying to get help, but I "die" before I do.

Have you ever been blind or paralyzed in a dream? I've have my vision blocked temporarily before. Once during an LD I found myself sleeping on the floor. I then stand to head out the door and it still felt as though the sheet was covering one of my eyes. I tried to push it off but I couldn't get my eye clear. In desperation I pushed both my eyes open between my thumbs and forefingers and it seemed to work.. things became clear and bright.

Well, I once had a dream in which I'd had a concussion/been drugged. My vision was really blurry and I couldn't walk straight and I kept passing out. Not quite the same thing, though.

Hm, guess it happens to people quite often, strange how I can't remember ever having a dream like that till now. O_o Anyway, yeah, cool. lol

I get the frequently as well. Every so often I end up being blind in the dream and I'm feeling my way around. Sometimes it happens in the middle of the dream. But usually for me it ends up happening when I'm waking up and slowly leaving the dream, so that could be a reason why.

When I was little I used too. After a while though, I got used to it and could easily navigate without sight. I no longer have that problem. I suppose because I overcame it.

i had a dream last night where like my charachter was blind but i could see. it was weird

I dont know if this counts as blind but sometimes when i become lucid my eyes shut and when i open them i wake, once i decided to keep them shut and spent the dream blind just touching stuff and floating, i wasent scared of running into anything either
