      Post-Apocalyptic Dreams

(So that means set in an environment where a nuclear or otherwise world destroying disaster has taken place)

I've had a few Post-Apoc dreams, they were really cool. I don't know why I like them so much, but I do. Ruined buildings, panic, being part of a small group of survivors... It's just an amazing atmosphere.

I once had one the night after watching the first episode of the tv series Jericho several months back. That was also the only one in which I experienced the apocalypse itself, instead of the things that happened after.

Have you guys ever had any dreams like that?

Yeah, I had a dream like that. I was standing outside at night looking up at all the stars across the sky. I see a shooting star, and then another, and another. Soon, there were hundreds of shooting stars across the sky, and one flew over my head and crashed into a building a few miles away. I immediately start running, the ground shook and began to crack. More meteors were crashing at places, and I ended up in a city. Buildings were falling and torn apart. Left and right of me were crowds of people screaming and running for their lives. The police told us to get inside the city hall, it was the only safe place. I met this scientist who said there was a way to save everyone, and I had to come along to help him. We get on this car and fly around to collect the items/people we needed, but it was too late. Later the dream changes, and it had to do with something about America being a myth. I was in a desert, and my people lived in caves. It was our only safety from this evil civilization. They rode on monsters (cars) and "used magic" (bombs/nukes) on anyone that wasn't their kind.

LOL I went to sleep after posting this topic and I had another Post-Apoc one! I don't have them very often so... yay!

Basically I escaped in a time machine before the bombs were dropped but things were getting out of hand already some time into the future, after the bombs had been dropped. My goal was to return to the past and prevent the bombing from happening, but I didn't get that far. Besides, I didn't want to go back to a normal looking world anyway

Apocalyptic dreams... yes I have these pretty often. They scare me, but I have to say I do feel what you're saying about the atmosphere. It is pretty interesting.
