1) My first brief taste of lucidity in many years.

When I first heard about lucid dreams a long time ago, I had a few of them naturally. After that, the years passed and I forgot. But last night, I was lucid for a brief period of time. See, I was a police officer, and I had accidentally backed my squad car over some girl's foot, and she was pretty pissed about it and probably going to sue. So I sped off to a real version of Moe's Tavern. While there, I kept expecting her to walk through the door at any moment, even though she had no realistic means of doing so. I told myself that if I kept expecting her to come in, she probably would, because that's how dreams work... then I took a step back and was like "HOLY SHIT THIS IS A DREAM!" But before I could even rub my hands together I had a false awakening, which I failed to test out of.

So, I got to be lucid for about 2 seconds. It wasn't frustrating though, rather the opposite; extremely encouraging. The only thing I did was a WBTB because I had to go to the bathroom. I was too lazy to try any actual induction techniques. Also, I did get to sleep hours past my normal waking up time today, as I'm home from school.

2) I saw a solar eclipse.

This was awesome. I've always been interested in astronomy, and I'm a student of astronomy at the moment, so it was really fun to see this. I was in my basement (during the daytime; it was brightly lit by sunlight), and I looked out of my window, and saw that the sky was dark and full of stars. It was the most breathtaking thing I've actually seen in my dreams. I went upstairs to observe it for a little but it disappeared pretty quickly.

3) Identified my first dream sign.

When I saw the eclipse I was in my basement. This isn't the first time I've been in my basement during my dreams, and it always looks the same too. My real basement is completely full of junk because my family never throws anything out. However, I've had multiple dreams where I'm in my basement, but it has a completely empty and free floor, and is always brightly lit by outside light. There also always seems to be some random boxes of cereal in there too. (on my way down the stairs I passed a box of "Cinnamon Cheese-O's", wtf? they even looked disgusting in my dream)

Anyway, I believe this all happened somewhere from 6am-9am, after I'm usually awake for school, and after I had done a WBTB (not on purpose though). I feel really refreshed and inspired today what a great way to wake up.
