      Recurring Dream

Forgive me for forgoing the introductory post, I've tried posting this dream on a dream forum before hoping someone could help me figure it out.

I have only ever had one recurring dream (I'm not sure exactly how many times I've had it).

Anyway, I'll try to follow the guide posted in the... erm, guide.

I started having this dream when I was quite young, but I still remember it very well, and it's not the typical "I dreamed of a scary ghost and woke up screaming" type of thing.

Here is the dream in its entirety:
In the dream I am always a child, one of many. Strangely enough I am unsure which child I am as my view sort of moves in and out over the entire setting. I have the feeling that I am one of the children which I will describe shortly. I digress...

The setting is my grandparent's back yard, but without any trees (they have many trees) and an apparent absence of their house. All that remains is the landscape of short, dry grass and a basement (somehow). The landscape surrounding the yard is an expanse of fields, nothing else can be seen. In the basement there is a large closed coffin which I believe to be empty. The coffin is very black and somehow is also a grandfather clock (laying on its back). The weather is stormy, windy, and warm (the children don't seem to be cold at all, despite the wind). The atmosphere is almost greenish, there is no rain.

The children (of which I am one) are frantically searching the yard for piano keys. The clock/coffin is heard ticking and chiming loudly, somehow booming from the sky. A voice accompanies the clock sounds, also coming from the clock/coffin but booming through the sky as well. It is telling us children to hurry, hurry and find the keys. Several keys are found throughout the duration of the dream, once found they are brought down to the coffin and placed inside (although the inside of the coffin is never seen). The voice continually booms through the surrounding "hurry! hurry!", the children are desperately searching for the keys, no one cries.

This continues on for a duration, but then the ticking and chiming grows louder, and the voice booms more desperately. "It's too late!", this phrase is drawn out, and horrifies the children. The atmosphere grows darker, again "It is too late". Then, well, that's it, that's as far as I get before waking up feeling a sense of doom.

One final note, I'm not intentionally being vague about the children. I don't believe I recognize any of them as people I know, nor do I recognize the voice coming from the clock/coffin. I don't recall any features of the children other than their frantic running, not that they're featureless, just.... not memorable.

Anyway, that's as specific as I can be about the whole thing.

I hope someone can help me out. Much thanks!

Oops, I didn't notice the recurring dream sub-forum. Could this be moved?
