Question The Best Book For Dreamers?

      Hey there,
I dont usualy read books at all, but the thing is id like to. Its just that i cannot seem to find the right book for me.
ive tried looking around for something i like but nothing interests me. If there was a book about a dream or someones dreams and lucidity ect, i think that would be perfect for me to read.
Dreams as in sleep, not as in MLK.
is there any books any of you can recomend for me? and maybe a small description?
      thanks

Well personally, I love books... Half of my room is actually filled with books (no joke) so I could probably give you a few titles.

Lets narrow it down, are you looking for something funny or serious? Adventure, love, or both? Anything to narrow it down would be nice
      Bollocks.

I thought of Steven at first, but no... If he doesn't read often, he's not going to want to read a manual...

      Read Revelations by Jonathon Wallace!

well um, i dont want anything that takes its time for action to start, in my english lit class, we are currently reading, "Snow Falling On Cedars" which is probably the complete opposite of what i like.
I like books that are scary and tense, i attempted Steven King but it seems he always starts off good for half the book, then when it comes to explaining, it seems to drag.
Fantasy is cool and so is sci fi, but real life doesnt seem to interest me unless its about someones dreams which would be cool.
Um, i dont think i would like love stories eithers.
Currently someone recomended a book called "Prey" by 'Michael Chrichton.'
The book is quite interesting, when it comes to the action part.
'Steven King' Has action and drama start till half way, and 'Chricton', the last half. Is there a book that is tense all the way through?
P.S would this thread be better in general discussion board?

      Eh, maybe.

Well, if you just want a good book to read, I Am Legend is really short, action filled, and very interesting, plus its all over the place since the movie came out.

But a book about dreams... I'm not so sure. But either way, if you are into the book, theres a good chance you could dream about what you read.

No, there are quite a few. Just none came to mind.

Books about dreams are generally hard to come by... But books that are fit for you are easy to come by.

Honestly, I would suggest going into the young adults section and just picking something out. They're easy reads.

Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming is more of a guide or an information book. I'm not too sure If it's what your looking for thought. If you want action maybe you should try and find a book about a dream or about someones dreams instead of a book about dreams.

His books are normally pretty weird, but there are elements of dreaming which are pretty awesome. I recommend:

      Everville
      The Great and Secret Show

both by Clive Barker. He's a pretty twisted dude...but those 2 books were sheer genius in my opinion - the Dream Sea is an awesome concept.

Try some of H.P. Lovecraft's short story collections. Lovecraft was a man of the early 1900's, on par with Edgar Allen Poe as one of America's best authors with regards to the weird and bizarre.

According to H.P. many of his tales came from dreams he had. Additionally, dreams and dreaming play prominent roles in many of his stories.
There are great truths and there are trivial truths. The opposite of a trivial truth is obviously false. The opposite of a great truth is also true.
