      Electric buzzing noise when going to sleep

      howdy! never really done this before so hello from a newbie
      i thought i'd ask about this - sometimes when i'm falling asleep, i'll start hearing electric shock sort of noises, and feel them in my head too. over a couple of seconds they'll stop and start again, and get progressively worse - then i'll have one so bad i'll jolt up.
      is this a normal thing when sleeping?

      sounds like tinnitus. Some people experience it more than others. Look it up on google and maybe you can see if that is actually what you are experiencing.

      I have never got that. I do get rinning in my ears and then I know I am about to fall asleep

      It's not tinnitus, I don't actually hear the sounds in my ears at all, it's more of a feeling?

      I just experienced this last night. Was more of an electric jolt or zap sound. Didn't hurt or anything and was almost sleeping. It wasn't external sound but more of an internal brain sound. I know this post is older but just thought I would share and I was searching for some answers for this.

      Sometimes when I'm in Sleep Paralysis attempting a WILD, I will hear intense noise, and also feel electrical shock sensations throughout my body. Not sure if that's related to your situation, though.

      Probably tinnitus. Try to tune it out through meditation.

      Not tinnitus. It's a bugzapper sound that is internal in my head. Only happened once before trying to sleep. Didn't hurt, sounded just like a bugzapper catching a bug.

      I know it's probably nothing to worry about but just curious since it never happened before. I'm 30.
