Very interesting read. The rehearsal idea of dreams makes a lot of sense, but still seems very theoretical. Of the dreams that I remember, almost none of them involve threatening situations like those described in the article, and I don't have (or remember) nightmares anymore. Still, the more general concept that dreams are a way of solving problems stands the test of time and seems to be more encompassing. Nonetheless, I did enjoy that article very much, and points to the importance of dreams. In particular, it was interesting that they mentioned that dreams can seem more vivid than waking life.
P.S. I now have a good excuse for not watching horror movies!
