Thread: Very Interresting Article On Why We May Dream

Very interesting read. The rehearsal idea of dreams makes a lot of sense, but still seems very theoretical. Of the dreams that I remember, almost none of them involve threatening situations like those described in the article, and I don't have (or remember) nightmares anymore. Still, the more general concept that dreams are a way of solving problems stands the test of time and seems to be more encompassing. Nonetheless, I did enjoy that article very much, and points to the importance of dreams. In particular, it was interesting that they mentioned that dreams can seem more vivid than waking life.

P.S. I now have a good excuse for not watching horror movies!

Regarding the idea that we don't remember all of our ideas...I don't know if that is really the purpose. That is to say, that we don't necessarilly need to remember them for the practice to be of use to us. I think the idea behind this theory is just that all of the practice just kinda of sits in our heads until we need to use it. Kind of like those random useless facts that you learn, don't think about, and then bust out at a random time to impress your friends, but more practical to life, haha. This probably just sounds like random babble as I should probably be asleep, but oh well. That's the way life works sometimes i guess, huh? On that note...good night.
