Sleeping for a few minutes but feels like a day

Ok i woke up at 5:04 today, and was shaking or vibrating somewhat, then my cat shadow jumped on me and it went away. I fell asleep again, woke up, repeat. Then the weird part comes in. I fell asleep at 6:34 and actually had a dream that i got up for school, a few things happened (which i totally forgot and im mad) and it was like a whole day. Um... i'll try to remember the events that happened in my dream but they're real vague now.

Maybe corn IS in everything. Or maybe im just crazy. Or maybe your dreaming. Or maybe corn has taken over the world. Or maybe i need to be locked up. Or maybe ive been eated by bears.

This happened to me a few times, always a strange feeling.

Stephen LaBerge made a few experiments concerning dreamtime / wakting time and showed that they are ruffly the same.

Nevertheless it can feel like a whole day, when you only slept a few minutes. this is because the events in your dream can jump and your mind does not remember everything. For example, you can get out of bed and get out the door and suddenly stand in front of you school already. Your mind now has the urge to make a kind of story out of this and allthough you never went to school, you think that you got up and went to school, because your brain knows that in the ususal progress of a day you do not simply get out of bed and suddenly stand at school, but that you firstly eat breakfast, go to the bus etc.

This parts may be blurry in your memorie later on and at the end it may all feel like you lived out a whole day.
I'm not the signature, I'm just cleaning here.

Yeah I was going to say pretty much what Thorim just said.

It's like if you think about your day yesterday, your brain doesn't take 24 hours to recount all 24 hours. It just skips around, touching on the highlights. I think it's the same with dreaming. You dream about certain points of a 'day', then your mind tries to tie it all together to make sense, making it seem like more time has passed.

Cool stuff.. I like to ponder that every now and then.

the shaking thing about your post caught my attention because this has happened to me. It freaked me out so much I was wide awake after that. So I only got like 1 hour of sleep that night. I did some reading and found that it is a symptom of having OOBE. I thought it was interesting. It happened one other time and I haven't had the prob since.
