      Glasses

I got glasses just a few weeks ago. [first pair] Lately, I've been having really weird experiences at night: I suddenly jerk awake, seemingly out of nowhere. I feel like my glasses are still on, but it's more like a heavy weight sitting on my eyes/nose. It's a very unsettling feeling.. I'm still mostly asleep, so I try to take the glasses off. Of course I'm not wearing any, but I can still feel something weighing down on my face. So I try again. Rinse & repeat.

I don't really know how to describe it, but it's a nasty feeling. It's like wearing very heavy, heavy glasses. the only way I can shake it off is forcing myself to fully wake up..which is a pain. I don't know what I'm asking here. Anyone had this experience? Any advice? :p

It'll probably go away with time as you get used to your glasses. At the moment sounds like a great way to induce lucidity, though!

I've had similar experiences, actually. Like Mes says, it will go away with time. In the meantime, try to focus on the positive aspect of having glasses—for me it tends to be my subconscious multiplying nervousness and/or discomfort with the idea of it, and causing nerve/stress induced dreams or nightmares based on these feelings that I may not even realize I had. Makes for some vry frustrating experiences, but it will pass, and if you can get to the root of it (possibly some subconscious negative connotations of having glasses?) it will go away much quicker.

Sorry I couldn't help more, Xox.

I've had cases where I wouldn't be wearing my glasses, yet, feel like they are on and then try to take them off only to realize that they are off, lol. I've been wearing glasses for a LONG time and I find the feeling interesting over annoying. You could try contact lenses instead

:/ It would be if I didn't have to wake myself up completely so I can shake the feeling off.

Ya know, I think you're right. I don't know how to let go of these negative connotations though. I'll work on thinking about only the positive..

Well! I hope this doesn't continue. ;p I'm more used to forgetting to put them on actually. And I'll probably get contacts eventually..

I just wanted to say that this thread made me dream about glasses last night...

I was reading it yesterday and was thinking to myself about how my vision is in a dream and that next time I go lucid I would test it...

Well last night in a non lucid, I dreamt about buying glasses, I tried on one pair and everything went completly blurry. Then tried on a different pair and I coudn't make out the words in the distance but it was normal vision.

Wierd how my vision changed so rapidly by just slipping on glasses in a dream...

Thought I'd share sorry for the rambles....I think next time this happens don't move try to stay still, take in the wierd feeling and think about dreaming and hopefully you can induce a lucid. Also, GET CONTACTS, they will change you're life!!!
