      Sleeping Positions and Dreams

I have a habit of falling asleep in some of the most oddest positions and places. The floor, school hall while waiting for class, the couch while in the middle of playing a video game... etc.

Apparently (I did not know this until my father told me) sleeping in bad positions can give you odd dreams, dreams about being crippled, etc for some people.

Twice, I've slept on an undersized and horribly uncomfortable couch in a odd position, and both times have I had dreams of having a extremely difficult time walking.

I'm curious on what other people have experienced with this: have your sleeping positions affected your dreams?

I've seen a few threads on this already...

I think, yes. Much like sounds and sensations can make their way into your dreams, I think body position can too. Now... I can't say anything definitive from personal experience...but, I would venture to say they won't always affect how you dream.
      Bollocks.

I have heard that sleeping in uncomfortable positions is one of the main things that can induce nightmares.

Well I like sometimes to sleep in very odd way.My head and hands are at floor and rest of my body is on bed.I know it sounds crazy but i like 'overlaying' in that position when I wake up.
And hmm, I didn't dreamed anything 'unusual' while in that position. But I think that position and your environment affects to dream. I remember once it was winter and during night my blanket slipped of, at that point I was dreaming that I am at some mountain and that I feel very cold. When I woke up it was so cold ( because my blanket was off me ).

That's interesting. I didn't think of temperature, but it seems that can effect dreams as well!

I used to always sleep on my side, but I the first LD I had I was sleeping on my back so ever since then I've been sleeping on my back. I haven't had any nightmares since then that I remember but that might just be a coincidence.
