Unhappy my dreams are always bland

my dreams rarley have anything that causes me to wonder about if it is a dream. Is there anything I can do to cause my dreams to go from almost like normal life to crazy.

take melatonin! it always gives me crazy dreams. my dreams are also pretty bland on a regular basis. it makes it hard to become lucid when nothing is really out of the ordinary

reality check when nothing interesting is happening or when you are bored

      when doing routine things

and basically just doing stuff you would do IRL

it will become a dream sign and help you become lucid

That sucks, my dreams are always super trippy. I have never been lucid from crazy things happening only from reality checks.

My dreams always start off normal and progress into something strange, but then once I wake up I realize the "normal" things weren't as normal as I thought...like reliving an experience from my past at my current age.

What is your daily life like? What do you read? What kinds of movies and TV do you watch? What kind of art do you look at? Maybe you need to take in a more varied "diet" of mental food, so that you give your dreams something to use? You could try doing more art and creative writing of your own too. If you don't go our much, maybe you need to do it more. Find interesting experiences while awake, and they should affect your dreamtime.

I don't agree with taking melatonin for that purpose... it makes me sleep so soundly that I can't remember my dreams as well as I used to. But I sleep much better, and finally have a regular sleep cycle, which gives me more energy during the day. It's a trade-off, I guess. I don't think it makes my dreams that I do remember any different in quality though.
