      Dream tells the future.

so last night i had a dream that i was at my school that i graduated from last year and i ran into one of my friends named Havi, who i havent seen since i graduated. Im like "havi whats up! long time no see!" now in the dream he had a buzzed head which was weird cause he always had long hair. then the dream ended.

so anyway, tonight i went out long boarding with one of my friends and as we were skating along we passed this group of kids and one of the kids shouts my name "James!" i look over and wouldnt ya know it, its havi! im like "dude whats up!" then i remembered my dream and i say "dude your not going to believe this but i ran into you in a dream last night!" then i look up at his head and hes wearing a beanie but i could see a little bit of his hair and it was buzzed! I was like "no way! dude in my dream you had a buzzed head!" so then he took of the beanie and he looked exactly like he did in my dream. i was astounded and couldnt believe it, he thought it was pretty cool too.

this is the second time ive had a dream that something has happened and then later that day the thing in my dream really happened.

That's pretty cool. I can't remember ever having a dream about something that actually happens later on.

That's very interesting. The possibility of predictions can be misleading though when dreams try to forcefully communicate bleak futures, like disfigurement or the loss of life. This instance is quite harmless since it is just the appearance of an old friend, but what if you dreamed that your friend died in an accident? Would you really want to know the future if the future is grim?

I think if I dreamed that someone got a buzz cut, I'd probably guess that maybe he was going to join the military! Off to boot camp! Interesting that the cut was verified so quickly, and yes, I get dreams like that a lot, places I'm going that I didn't know about yet, people I haven't met yet, all kinds of things, really. Sometimes, I see a piece of mail as it's being sent, so I recognize it when I get it. It can be very strange.

And yes, I also get the dreams about deaths and disasters, and you actually get used to it. It sort of prepares you for things emotionally. The hardest part is figuring out when what you dreamed might help a situation if you share it, versus where it's not likely to help, since there's not enough detail to make a difference. I dreamed a lot of dreams about 9/11 prior to the event, but there wasn't enough information to understand what I saw except in hindsight. Those are posted here somewhere... either here or Beyond Dreaming, I think. Fairly recently.
