      One simple question

      Has anyone ever dreamt that they woke up? Just woke up in their room like they would any other day? I had a dream like that once. It was weird lol.

      It is called a false awakening and yes, they can be the strangest things. I woke from a nightmare once. I sat up in bed breathing hard. I calmed down and got up, went into the bathroom and splashed some water on my face. I turned the light on and looked in the mirror and I had NO REFLECTION! Scared the shit out of me!

      looking in the mirror i found is never a good thing. i've done this and not seen myself, but the WORST is when you see the back of your head. it is so so so scary.

      I don't do it that often, but yeah, it's a "thing" that seems fairly common with most people. Good reason to do a RC whenever you wake up I guess!

      I agree about the mirrors -- I had the scariest dream once where I looked in the mirror and I looked so distorted and weird and then I sort of howled at myself -- freaky! I woke up shaking!

      there was only one false awakening i had and it was horrible. coincidentally it involved me looking in a mirror and seeing myself distorted and horrible, then seeing a dark figure move behind me ... which was also horrible lol. i forced myself to wake up, which is something i usually have the ability to when my dreams get bad. so i'm sitting in my bed, i hear my cat walking around which makes me believe even more that i am actually awake. then out of nowhere, an old haggard looking man jumps on my bed and stabs me repeated times - i try to scream but i can't. then i wake up in the same position, for real. definitely on the top 5 scariest things i've experienced.
