      Off the wall dreams

For as long as I can remember, most of my dreams are completely off the wall. Sometimes they are violent in nature, other times just so off the wall, that frankly I am afraid to tell most folks, because I think the guys with white jackets would come and fit me with one.

Here is a snippet of one...you tell me what it means.

I had a dream that I was to the best of my knowledge out in western Nebraska, possibly Colorado. I was outside of a town by one of those interstate clover leafs. When there was a B-2 bomber that was taxiing over the over pass and was getting on the clover leaf, in which I assumed it was going to get on the interstate and take off. In the dream it really didn't seem unusual for this to occur.

As the bomber was making it's way around the clover leaf it started to leak fuel and then it started to tip over and then burst into flames. In the dream I know that it has a nuclear bomb on it and that it is in danger of exploding. I call 911 and the fire department is on it's way. I race into town and try to tell the people desperately that their is going to be an explosion and that they need to take cover. But people are ignoring me. I am in a department store, when I look down the street and can see the column of smoke and see the lights of the fire trucks. Then it happens...I see the bright flash and I duck down. The blast and the concussion hit the town and I get up and of course the downtown is a shambles and on fire. Everything is gray and I see the mushroom cloud. I am very frustrated and then I wake up.

What the hell does this mean?

Dreams don't necessarily have to mean anything directly. Our dreams are compiled of our thoughts, ideas, knowledge, experiences, emotions, feelings, surroundings, environment, memories both short and long term and many other contributing factors from things in our day-to-day lives. This is why situations we are in can be reflected in our dreams, and solutions can be found to some plaguing issues that we never noticed before in our very tunnel-visioned lives.

However, at the same time, dreams are the embodiment of randomness. Neurons firing in no particular direction with no particular destination for no particular purpose, reacting with the chemicals we release as we sleep, causing the onset of powerful emotions and feelings that are only enhanced by the tools the body is utilizing to take part in its normal sleep functions. The result are vivid, odd and sometimes scary hallucinations that are the compilation of everything we know and feel. And sometimes that's all they are. But it never hurts to look more deeply into a dream, and reflect on where you are and what is going on in your life.

I recently had nightmares when I went to visit someone I hold very close me. The hotel I was staying at was comfortable, the time I spent up there amazing and I felt better than ever because of where I was and who I was with. But I had, or at least remembered, stronger nightmares than I've had in a long time. Were these random? No. I know why they happened. Partially due to being in an unfamiliar atmosphere and bed, but it also had to do with some of the feelings of anxiety and nervousness that surfaced during the visit and situation, despite it being an overall good time.

These nightmares were the result of stress and negative, or at least misunderstood, emotions.

There can be no clear, concise and all encompassing objective interpretation for your dream to determine is meaning. In reality, all interpretations are vague and subjective.

      Good Luck!

Well, I suppose ExoByte knows what he is talking about, and eloquently so. However, let's not undermine the fact that dream interpretation may prove beneficiary to to the individual, and that some dreams contain clear elements that can be related to objectively. On the other hand, I think it's wrong to think that dreams can be universally interpretated out of certain elements, for there's just too many strange notions going on in the head of the individual for any of that to be relevant.
