Thread: Swing on the Spiral

I was just listening to one of my favorite bands, Tool, and I started listening to Lateralus once again when I heard the lines "Spiral out, keep going, we may just be where no one's been" and it instantly reminded me of lucid dreaming. I like the idea of using dreams to develop oneself mentally (and to some, even spiritually) and have another world to explore, one created completely by your mind.

That's what I see in these lyrics, anyways.

enough to step aside and weep like a widow
to feel inspired, to fathom the power,
to witness the beauty, to bathe in the fountain,
to swing on the spiral
of our divinity and still be a human.

With my feet upon the ground I lose myself
between the sounds and open wide to suck it in,
I feel it move across my skin.
I'm reaching up and reaching out,
I'm reaching for the random or what ever will bewilder me.
And following our will and wind we may just go where no one's been.
We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no one's been.

Spiral out. Keep going, going...

I don't have much time, so I'll post more on it later. For now, I just want thoughts.



Also, notice, I didn't post this in the R/S or BD forums, so let's keep it out of those realms. Some slight discussion there is fine AS LONG AS it is relevant.
