      Push-A-Button -> Almost Lucid

      Last night, I tried to focus my intent while falling asleep. Went to bed around 1030, asleep by probaby 1100. I'm slow to sleep. And any sporadic or non-continuous noise will break me from my sleeping spell.
      As usual, I awoke at 5 AM to pee. I tried to not wake up too much, but that only makes you wake up more. (Funny how if I had to be up at 5 for work I'd be dragging ass.) So I laid in bed for far too long trying to fall back asleep and half-assedly attempting an impromptu WBTB. It didn't work and I had itches on my face and stomach, then my shoulder hurt (as it does only when I'm lying in bed...), etc etc. I eventually turned over, giving up, and was just wanting the sweet release that only sleep can offer.
      And then it happened.
      I knew that I was lying in bed on my side, eyes closed, but a red button appeared in front of me. Seeing it very clearly I put my hand to it and pushed in. I felt that full-body shiver I often get when I catch myself slipping into sleep/dream state. I "saw" my body double itself, one (the dream body) slipping backwards from my physical form. I then proceeded to give myself the "nose pinch" test. Success. At this, I knew I was dreaming and I attempted to "get up" into my dream. But when I opened my dream eyes, my physical eyes opened and saw the room. I closed my eyes and waited a bit and tried again, yet again I opened my eyes and the room was still there. Soon after this I faded into regular sleep.
      I am quite excited by this "push-button" inducement that happened to me. It would be nice if I could make this "my thing". I have no idea what brought it about, but, like a 12-year old girl watching Justin Bieber for the first time, I'm an instant fan.

      Dreaming is an act of pure imagination, attesting in all men a creative power, which if it were available in waking, would make every man a Dante or Shakespeare. ~H.F. Hedge

      You remind me of me. The sleeping troubles, getting up and peeing at 5AM... and, my coolest dream transition was when I fell into the dream seeing my dream body but opened my eyes and saw my physical body, and could feel them both, which seems similar to what you experienced. The button you saw must have been a false awakening, else the only other explanation is some out of this world HI.

      The button clearly could be used as a dream sign, which is exciting since pushing it seems to help you get lucid. So, my advice to you is to RC every day by pushing any red buttons that you come into contact with. Its a really perfect opportunity to learn to regularly DILD. Also lookup DEILD, which is basically WBTB but without getting up. You'd like DEILD, because its instant and you can experience some awesome transitions.
