      How Often Question ?

      Hi all

I know this may have been asked before
but how often do most people have controlled LD's

only i was reading that an experiment with dream machines increased the odds from 1 in 11 days to 1 in 3 with a dream machine

Does that mean most of us only get around 3 a month at best ?

      all the best Stef

It will vary from individual to individual. Some claim that they have and can have LDs at any time they choose. I in the other hand average about 6 a month....with a lot of effort.

Although I think most of us agree there are many levels and divisions of clarity to a lucid dream. All lucid dreams from my take would be a controlled Lucid dream. Otherwise it would not be lucid.

If the key word here is "controlled", then I have about 4 LDs a month using the wbtb method in which I have complete control.

Well, I don't think that most people have them that often, but I do. Have had them every nite since I was 4, but I have had to use that stupid 'body goes to sleep b4 you drift off'

Umm... What I've understood is that a dream is lucid if you're aware that you're dreaming. The ability to control is just extra, but not necessity as the only think that really matters is that you're aware of the dream.

Well, I know that the only way to officially control a dream is to know that you are dreaming, but this is a pretty high LD level, so unless you are at a really high level, it is unlikely that you will have control over it.

There is something I am missing a viod. I understand the possibilitie that lack of pysical control and lucidity may differ. But lucidity in itself is awareness, control. And I don't think that it takes that high level of lucidity to have control. Complete control.....O.K. But you are going to have some form of control wether it is mental or physical. Otherwise how could you consider it a lucid dream?

Sorry, I just thought it would be fun to quote five people.

Lucid dreams this month that I can remember: 31
      Controlled ones: 0

I have no control over what happens in my dreams except for my own normal actions such as walking, talking, and breathing. I cannot change anything about it unless I can count calling up the woman I love which I don't count as a controlled LD.

You could have no control in any way and still be lucid in a dream. As long as you know you are dreaming that is considered lucidity.

So explain what one of these dreams are like.
Are you viewing yourself from a third person aspect? Or are you aware you are in a dream and the dream just keeps going on as if it were a regular dream?

Well, I think it's true that when you're lucid, you always at least have control over yourself whereas in normal dreams you most likely can't control even yourself. In this case you can say that lucid dreams are always more or less controlled.

Anyway, it's also possible to have normal dreams where you can control things but don't realize you're dreaming (not lucid). I've had a few myself.

      Re: How Often Question ?

I've never used any machines, but for as long as I have kept records, I have a lucid dream(s) about every 8 days.
