Thread: lol... picked up on a spongebob cartoon whilst dreaming!

Thats really cool, i heard about this sort of thing happening before (it happend to my sister) - the consious mind picking up on sounds in the background and intergrating them into a dream, the brain has to be a powerful and complex tool to decode all the information and then work it into a dream, strange experience.....

I wonder if we did this with intention would it work as good?

I once fell asleep on the couch and futurama was on and I dreampt bender was trying to kill me I woke up to find out it was an episode where he was trying to kill everyone

I love that Spongebob cartoon alot, especially the part where his dream self says,"Is that me, or is this me? Am I still dreaming?" But hands down, I like the Ozzy & Drix one that Ozzy & Drix enter Hector's dreams & make him a LDer. Hector then changes the landscape, conquers a nightmare, & again changes the landscape. The part that I found funny is that Hector made Drix grow legs & he goes funny! Did anyone see that one?

That's pretty cool. I'd love to try something like that -- but I think I'd need to have someone else help me by starting a movie or whatever after I've been asleep for awhile.

I forgot to mention that when I was little, my mom would put on Xmas cartoons, since the only way for me to even fall asleep at all is to use WILD, & in some of the LDs, I would be in them. That was weird, but I was only 3, & it's better to do that than to not sleep at all!

This happens to me alot as I leave sport radio on all night....But this one time i was sleeping over at my mates house and I was dreaming and in my dream someone threw a pen at me...It turned orut he threw one at me in real life to wake me up..

i have a feeling that this particular phenomena is not that strange (like LD is).. i mean, everytime my alarm clock radio turns on, i somehow integrate the news in my dreams..

and funniest is when a friend during the day mentions some news, and i think "oh i thought that was my dream".

Funny that you mention a cartoon related dream. I just had one the other morning that had to do with the looney toon babies.

It started out, from what I can remember, with four of the babies floating in space. Both the bunny characters (male and female), the daffy baby character, and the pig baby character (Can't remember his name), floating out there talking. A genie of some sort came and hovered next to them for a bit and promised to grant them a wish. While the babies were pondering their wish, the genie spotted some conflict on a planet the babies were orbiting. He wasted no time in checking out the situation and left the babies without granting their wish.

After the genie left, the babies all started to plummit towards an ocean on this planet. Once they landed and surfaced, a machine with all white buttons came out of nowhere and asked the babies to "Enter their user names." The pig tried putting in his own name, but the machine replied "Your username, idiot!" and that was that.

I don't remember much about how the next scene came about, but the looney toons babies found themselves driving in a hovering Packard from the 1930's from one of the things causing conflict on the planet. Lasers were flying.. bla bla. I noticed that the female bunny was missing, then the packard stopped and the female bunny was sitting in a chair next to the packard asking for a ride.

It's always the phone that wakes you up from the most interesting dreams, and that's what did it for me..

Yeah, I've got some pretty crazy dreams, it's too bad that this one wasn't lucid. It's also odd that I don't remember seeing or feeling as if I was in the dream at all. It was as if I was watching a TV in my mind.
