      natural lucid dreamer

I just have always assumed that naturally lucid dreaming was pretty common. A few days ago I decided to google it, and it made it seem like this is very rare. How rare is it?

Basically i've always lucid dreamed throughout my life. I didn't know about the term until years after I had been lucid dreaming. I go in phases where I do it a lot, and other phases where I don't do it so much. I would say I always do it at least some. Anywhere from a few times a month to 4-5 times a week. This is without doing anything to prepare or try to force a lucid dream. I'll just somehow realize i'm dreaming at some point in my dream. Lately i've been in a phase where i've been doing it a lot. For the past month or 2 it's been 4-5 times a week.

When I was young and I used to get them it never even occured to me that you could try to induce it. I just thought it was a really cool thing that happened sometimes. Eventually I got the idea of just thinking to myself "I know i'm dreaming" and repeating this in my head over and over until I fall asleep. I tried it, and sure enough I had a lucid dream. I've tried this a lot of times since, and I would say when I do this I have a 80-90% chance of having a lucid dream, and it's really easy. The only hard part about it is actually staying focused and continuing to repeat it. Once you start to get extremely tired and get where you're almost drifting to sleep, your mind wanders and it's hard to keep it focused.

Anyways, just thought i'd make a thread about how i'm a natural lucid dreamer and see about the others on here and whatnot.

I learned it from a recurring dream long before I ever heard of lucid dreaming. Reccuring dreams are obviously a dream if youve dreamed it before so it is easy to catch yourself in a dream. Over time from everytime I had that dream I decided to start trying to change it. They were small changes at first but eventually I got to where I had 100% control of it. i wish I would have that dream again because it is the easiest for me to control but after learning it from that dream I started finding it in other dreams.
