Have any of you watched some of the "What the bleep down the rabbit hole", series. Its to do with Quantum physics with a branch of science that deals with discrete, indivisible units of energy, and lots of amazing facts and its all science. I think it is quite amazing and makes you think what is real reality and in a lucid dream is it just what we are expecting it to look like and could we see how reality really looks in a lucid dream- probably not. Here is a video of the famous Double Slit Experiment just a taste of the weird world we live in. There are lots more amazing quantum experiments out there.

Quantum physics is so fascinating - I'm actually reading a book on it right now. That video illustrates the Observer Effect nicely. The mind boggles when you think of how many possibilities there are about what our reality really is.

I've studied this in my physics class, and this video explained the same stuff except much clearer. I especially how they showed the superposition of electrons. This really puts things into perspective...

This is weird. My dad recorded What the Bleep Do We Know? a few months ago and he just recently ordered the actual thing. That's kind of a coincidence. Unless the company sent it out at the same time to different people. Also he got some books about the power of water and it has a lot of those pictures of water crystals changing just because of thought. Quantum Physics is a very interesting subject. What if someone had the ability to actually bend reality to an extreme point because they were born with intense, clear brainwaves or something like that? Sorry. I'm tired.

"In Search of Schroedinger's Cat" was one of those very influential books in recognizing my complete lack of understanding about reality. Gribbon has written several. He's a great writer who does a wonderful job of putting this stuff in easy grasp. (Easy... but still utterly mind bending&#33

Taking the next leap into possibilities, you might want to check out String Theory. Even though the theory has fallen into general disfavor, it shows how perplexing "reality" really is even to the greatest minds we have among us.

Quantum physics is great! In Search of Schroedinger's Cat is good, by John Gribbin as someone said. Just be aware that "What the Bleep" is a slick advertisement for a cult. Most of its interpretations are wrong, and go against the very scientists they show in the movie. They interviewed the guy from Columbia University, and then cut-and-pasted excerpts to support their views.

By all means, learn all you can about quantum physics. But please be skeptical of your sources; it's a favorite topic for those who care more about taking money from us than leaving us with actual knowledge and understanding.
The new evolutionary paradigm will give us the human traits of truth, of loyalty, of justice, of freedom. These will be the manifestations of the new evolution. And that is what we would hope to see from this. That would be nice.

Yeah, thanks JaphyR for bringing that up. I had heard about that how they cut some things and moved them around to look like they supported a particular view point. I had read about that after watching it, but if they speel on about the particular subject long enough you can be pretty sure where they stand, and then from there go do your own research on that subject to see if it backs up what they are saying. But yeah it is aways wise to be skeptical on certain points. .

      Pretty amazing stuff.

Makes me think... maybe the material universe exists because there are observers... Without us observers, what would there be?

      Great thread Flight

I recently saw a tv program where a "string theorist" explained that he and his colleagues can't draw a model to show "string theory" to each other. So they can't simplify it for general consumption.

      He was sad about that.

They can only share with each other using equations. So to really understand "string theory" takes a decade or more of slowly absorbing the language of mathematics.
