Lucid Dreams when a child.

When i was very young i could lucid dream, without actually knowing what it was. it was only a few times thinking back were i had a quite a bit of controll over my dreams. so i was just wondering if anyone else did it when young? Stories?

Me too, my first lucid dreams were as a child and would normally occur during nightmares. I would use my lucidity to defeat whatever was troubling me in the nightmare.

Me too. Interesting thing is, though, they weren't really like what we try to do now to induce lucid dreams. The ones I remember, for the most part, I just spontaneously knew I was dreaming, in the same way that you sometimes just know details about dreams, even if you don't directly see them. It wasn't like I saw something that made me think I might be dreaming, it was just one second to the next I had that knowledge. I had pretty good control, though I didn't try a whole lot. Mostly just flying, to be honest, though in my earliest LD I was trying to help out a DC.

for me it felt kinda like a game with a character i could just control for no reason and I was like o, its a dream....

I was lucid once when I was 10. I realized I was dreaming, then I pinched myself and it didn't hurt then I had like two or three false awakenings.... thats the only time I can recall a lucid dream when I was a kid

When I was young I used to have nightmares and I first developed a method of escaping them when I was about 7, by rapidly blinking 5 times - so I was definitely aware that I was dreaming and was able to get out of it using that method. I also remember another nightmare I had when I was a kid about Freddy Krueger (lol, i know) but I learned to overcome the fear by making him do something goofy instead of try and kill me... so I think I realized I had more power over my dreams than I realized at a pretty young age. I started learning to fly when I was young as well and I'm really good at it now because of all the practice Also, TONS of false awakenings..
