      State of mind and Timing

      Hi everyone

      Now for some reason I had a really good day the other day and I new that night as I was going to bed that I would LD I don’t know why but I really felt like I would and I wasn't trying to kid myself I woke up at 4.55am as usual still feeling very good even better for being able to automatically wake up just before my best time , i said to myself now i'll go to sleep and LD and sure enough I was soon LD'ing

      So of course I tired the same thing again last night but I never had that same feeling that I would really do it and I didn't

      So I guess it is just down to a state of mind I have to get in to believe I will do it, I have triead lots of other methods however the only thing that works is just going to bed after I have had a good day with no worries and thinking very positive with very little on my mind.

      Also very critical I have found is timing , I always dream the most just after 5.00am and I can always wake up before then and prepare myself though if I’m to awake or to tired it just don’t work and thats all down to what time i went to bed and how active i've been through the previous day

      the funny thing is if i LD i feel great all day helping me in to my next LD though if i dont LD i feel frustrated and find it harder to LD viscous circle or what

      Stef, I'm right there with you.

      When i wake up from a good LD, the sun is shining, the birds are singing and all is right with the world!
      But, if I've tried to LD and failed (especially if I've failed three or more tries in a row), I feel kinda "depressed" for lack of a better word.

      But as they say "the sun will come out tomorrow" and so will lucidity!

      the whole worker behind lding is your subconscious mind, its what contorls everthing, to ld u have to program your mind for ONLY THE POISITIVE or else you subconsciuos will act on the negative thoughts that you cant do it....... my advice it to stay positive, set your alarm clock for a certain time, and keep doing your best much luv

      Frame of mind makes an incredible difference in how easy it is to get lucid. For me, it can even have a severe effect on my dream recall. About a month ago, I was getting lucid with increasing frequency, and I could remember 3 or 4 dreams per night, more than I ever had time to write down. With the end of my senior year of highshool approaching, I've had so much work lately that I've been a little stressed, and between that and friends, I haven't had much "me time." The result has been a month-long dry spell, with no lucids and pretty bad recall. It's also kept me away from this site, which hasn't helped. However, with strong enough willpower, almost any mental barrier can be overcome. Keep believing that you can dream well, and that things really aren't all that bad, it can make a huge difference. And maybe just take a day off once in a while, just chill out and do whatever makes you feel good, and leaves you happy when you're headed off to dreamland.
