      Is this Hypnotic Imagery?

      I start doing some MILD.

Then I close my eyes and let my thoughts flow through my head.
I relax and lay in my bed wiht my eyes closed.
I start seeing images from my eyes and different type of things periodically.
Sometimes I also hear sounds (cool eh).

Is this common to you guys and girls and what is it? And is this a precursor to WILD.

I see images that are not like when you are awake but what I see I can make out to be images. They just appear, sometimes what I think in my mind appears there. Random stuff They are fady and limited in color. They just appear. Small size, at random places. Its like when you close your eyes and see some image there you dont see it like real clear, its like its fizzy wavy, angled, and very very dim. 1 our 2 lite colors. But I can still make it out to be somethin. Is this what you also have too??

Do you have the sounds too? For me last night the sound was clear like it originated from an outside source Freaky!!!!!!

If this is like related to WILD I would be interested to try it for a WILD.

its not the same as when you think of someone, when i close my eyes they just suddenly appear. i also sometimes have that when i close my eyes i get images of streets and all different kinda places and then i shock and "wake" up again.... as far as sounds... sometimes

Lol, I cna't believe no one has replied to this besides you two yet.

Yes this is hypnogogic imagery, if you let it flow, and don't try to attach to anything, then you will eventually enter a dream, Soon after that, either you could feel a rushing sensation, like you falling, or being catapulted thourgh a zero g tunnel. then many thingswill happen very fast, stay focused and you might be able to cross the threshold into the dream, most people get scared/excited and wake up. but you sound like your well on your way. Keep at it

Is it easier to enter the dream when you first go to bed or about 5 hours later? I find it so hard to focus at 4am...

I normally see streaks and circles in all sorts of patterns and sometimes 3d tunnels.

Yeah, I agree with 4AM. I am trying to improve my recall by journaling and I am working on the motivation to stay awake and type. However I am starting to wake up after my dreams. My first wake up is like 5-6 hours after I sleep.

If you stand or sit up and try to feel less tired, it could be easier to focus because you are less tired. It might even be more effective because you are also integrating this technique with the one where you sleep for 6 hours, wake up and induce a lucid dream which is supposed to be effective.

Hmm, the key to being able to focus, is to get up, I know it sounds crazy, because your going to go right back to bed. but you get up, and eat something. do something that requires brainpower, after 30 minutes to an hour, then its much easier to concentrate

I tried to focus and then I just relaxed trying to go to sleep. I started feeling drowsier and then I felt my heart pound really hard and I jolted.

last night I tried focusing on moving in a car and i think i started seeing some images in my head of moving fast and it kinda looked like what you were describing of going through a tunnel it felt fast.

I think later i also noticed i was a little shaking or i felt a shaking sensation very lite.

however, i was feeling a little anxious because i noticed that somethin wierd was going on, maybe i was just a little afraid of what would happen next. my heart was pounding a bit fast cuz i was apprehensive

I used to close my eyes and see stuff like that after a while. I would float about alien mountainscapes, selling castle like buildings and soldiers fighting below unaware of my presence. Well weird!
