Eyes almost closed/Sleepy feeling in lucid dreams

Lately I've had lots of lucids, but my eyes are always barely open, and i feel like just collapsing right there. I can't control the dream properly either, and i fall out of lucidity after just a little while.

For example: I became lucid in a dream, and stole a red plastic saxophone from a man in a red suit. Right after stealing the saxophone my eyes went down, and I could barely see. I also felt really sleepy. I tried to play the saxophone, but I couldn't get any sound. Then it drifted away into a normal dream.

      Any tips?

This usually happens to me if i try to FILD. usually im in my bed in a dream, and my eyes just close. the 1st time i lost lucidity, the next few times when it happens i let it go dark but i dont lose conciousness. maybe pretend your blinking, stay aware and re-open your eyes when ready.

I've had this happen to me many times. What I've found works for me is not to try to force your eyes open, but to try to give them some cue. For instance, in my last lucid dream, my eyes closed completely - twice. Both times, I thought to myself "lights and color!" and the world came into being. Then you could try one of the other dream stabilizing techniques mentioned on DV to stabilize the dream so that you can maintain lucidity.
cold hearted orb that rules the night,
removes the colors from our sight.
red is grey and yellow white,
but we decide which is right,
      and which is an illusion....
