Comunicating with the dreaming

This past christmas when my cousin (Lunarian Moogle) and I went down to Puerto Rico to spend time with some family, some really cool dream related stuff happened.

We decided that we were going to go to sleep after a long night of playing/watching Final Fantasy X. My cousin, being the deep sleeper he is, fell asleep in about 5 minutes or so, and I just laid in bed trying to fall asleep. Suddenly, I hear my cousin: "Matt?"

Suprised, I got up to see what he wanted, but he was asleep. He's sleep talked before but this was the first time in awhile. So I tried to go back to sleep but before a minute could pass he said "Matt?" again. So this time, a little impatient because i was dead tired, I responded: "What?"

"What are you doing here?"
Me-"I'm trying to get some sleep."
"You're not sleeping."

This was the first time that I had accually comunicated with him while he was sleeping. We went on and had a long conversation, the whole time he was fast asleep. What was really cool was that we werent the only ones talking.

Apparently, he thought he was in a large white room and he was talking to me, Yuna and Rikku (FFX characters). So through him I got to talk to yuna and rikku about lots of different things. First though, my cousin asked why I wasn't answering Yuna. I told him I couldn't hear her.

"Are you deaf?"
(This is where i had to make up stuff so it seemed like i was in his dream)
Me-"No I just can't hear her. I can see her lips moving but I can't hear her."
"Must be a glitch in the Matrix."

I laughed a bit after he said that. From then on out he told me everything they said and before long I was chatting away with videogame characters through my dreaming cousin. Strange?

my mother and I were having a conversation about dreams once. she said that a long time ago one of her friends spent the night with her, and while she was sleeping she started to talk. appearently she was talking to her teacher in the dream. my mom decided to speak AS the teacher, and it worked! it was something like this:

girl: good morning ms. [name], I brought you some flowers...
mom: why thank you, [name].
girl: there's something I need to tell you..but I'm not sure if I can.
mom: it's ok, you can tell me.
girl: no I just..I don't think I can...

then she stopped!

that's really cool though...did you tell him about it when he woke up?

Maybe he dropped into a state of hypnosis for whatever reason and you just happened to be there at the right time. That is what it seems like.

My brother talks in his sleep all the time, but i have never had a conversation with him while he was sleeping...i gotta try that!

My brother does the same, but he mumbles more than actually talking. I'll try that with him someday since I am the last to sleep in my house.

I used to sleep talk, once I allegily had a conversation with my sleeping brother. 6 other people had the same story. it went something like this.

"You owe me that car man,"-Me
"No way! I don't owe you anything, you can nag me all you want but it won't get you any closer to my porche"-my bro
"better think twice about cheating me, watch your back"-Me

and the rest was incoherent. I'm not even sure if it happened, they say it did. but who knows
