      time related dreming

Hey, I recently read an artical that said you could expand the time in dreams ... i mean, you can make the time that you are asleep seem longer, like you are asleep for 30min but in your dream its 2 hours, or something like that, has this ever happened to anyone, have you been able to intentionaly produce this occurence? If you have could you share how you did it, thx

      Dear Ajax,

The problem with very long dreams is that they need to come out of a Creative Process. We must assume that our Higher Dream Self is already creating Dream Scenarios at its optimum capacity.

Now, we always hear people speaking endlessly that we only use only 10% of our brain's capacity. That is all nonsense! Our brains are doing the best they can.

What I have noticed about Dreaming is that it seems to be a creative process. One can ask one's Higher Dream Mind for a particular kind of Dream in order to address a certain Spiritual Issue or Special Concern, and it will come... but not immediately. What it seems like is that the Dream must first be written... screenplayed. and then there will be small dreams in prelude to the Main Dream, as the dream writer's seem to get comfortable with the Theme.

so, anyway, if you really want a dream which will seem to take hours, then realize that it will take quite awhile for your Higher Mind to bring such a dream through Production. You might have to focus on that goal for several weeks, or even several months, for, afterall, although you want this Long Dream, you will still want nightly dreams too, won't you? This Long Dream must come as an Extra -- something that your Higher Mental Reserves would have to work on as a Special Project.

And, yes, we do have certain extra resources, though they are not Infinite. I once had a Dream Vision of the Workings of my Higher Dream Mind -- it was symbolized by what looked like a Big Smoky News Room full of writers clicking away on old manual typewriters... well, most were typing away, but there were some chatting with each other, and some with their feet up on their desks just thinking about what to do next. There were about 30, over all. So, yes, we do have resources. and they can deliver a very good product, but we still need to respect their Process.

Oh, as a for instance of the phenomena of which you speak... the most famous incidence of just that sort of thing was with the Prophet Mohamed of whom it was said that as his Dream of Heaven began he accidentally knocked over his night-stands picture of water. Subsequently he had his Vision of Heaven .... rendering enough material for quite an Epic Poem... much of the body of the Koran sourced out of this Dream Vision. Yet he awoke soon enough to catch the Pitcher before half the water had spilled out.

Then, it may not have been an Ordinary Dream. Sometimes what happens is that Other Souls give us what is actually a Memory Implant. This is why many people believe in Reincarnation... you see, sometimes Souls who feel a certain sympathy and resonance with us will wish to share their Life Experiences with us and so they will present to us a memory package of their Life. Of course, this Memory will all be in the 'first person' -- all of the experiences will be centered around an Ego -- an experiencer that will think of itself as "I" and "me". In re-experiencing such memories, given to us by other souls, it is easy enough to 'identify' with the "I" and "me" of such an experience. But we should not be confused. Being given a Memory does not make that Soul our own. Yes, there are sympathies and resonances or these Souls would not have given us their Gifts, but if we are attentive, we would certainly notice differences in the choices made. If we notice that a Previous Life Memory is somehow more Brave, Virtuous, or Noble than we are now, that should be our first hint.

So, if a Dream seems too long, we must consider whether it is our own dream, or the Dream of a Higher Being that was simply given to us for Play Back -- a Memory Implant.

I've heard from several forum members who say that time expansion is possible to cause at will in your dreams. One method that I've heard is to visualize two analog clocks, one representing dream time, the other real time. Then, you visualize the clock for real time running much slower, such that minutes on the dream clock pass as seconds on the real time clock. Just another method that aids us in gaining control of our dreams.

Now, as to what is actually going on during time expansion, there are a few theories. Studies have been done where lucid dreamers count off 10 seconds, signalling to the outside world with their eye movements, and it came out to 10 seconds in real time. This allows for a few possibilities:
      1) Our dreams create the illusion of the pasage of time in the same way that movies do, by altering things to simulate the passage of time. This would make sense, because if you take a look at your average day, there's a lot of time that you aren't doing something all that interesting.
2)I'm sure you've noticed that time passes quickly when you're having fun. This prooves that the way we percieve time is relative. Yet, if you count off the time, it passes at the same rate as any other time. Something similar, though working to make time pass more slowly, could be happenning in dreams.
Well life is short, so love the one ya' got, 'cause you might get run over or you might get shot.

One time, in a dream, I experienced a shift in Time Resolution. First let me try to explain with a parallel -- do you know how Slow Motion Filming works? They actually speed up the recording camera to take many more exposures per second than in ordinary shooting, but then, when they play it back at the same ordinary rate, it all seems slower, but what is happening is that more information is contained per unit of Time. Well, this is what happened to me in a dream.

You see, this pickup truck pulled up and it was full of these men who were intent upon doing me harm. Well, instantly I felt the slowdown. It was like I became paralyzed, except that I was facing my enemies and saw that they were as slowed down as myself. Usually when this feeling of paralysis occurs, we are in flight from our foes and so we think only ourselves are slowed down, and we don't have the courage to look behind to see that what is actually happening is that we are not slow at all, but only that a greater rate of conscious Moments are being inserted into Time, creating only the appearance of a slowdown, but actually giving us many times more information than ordinary. Facing my enemies, I could see that.

So I decided to attack. Concentrating on getting the most out of each muscle I charged the pickup truck -- it seemed as though it took me minutes to reach it, but in real time it could not have been more than a second or two. I could see the developing look of surprise on the faces of my attackers and knew that they did not have the same Awareness of Time that I did (or they would not have wasted their energy making their faces look so stupid). I started with the guy in the back of the trucks bed who was swinging a chain. running up from the front bumper and leaping over the cab, ducking under the slinging chain I landed a foot in the guys chest and sent him reeling off the back of the truck. I carefully caught my orientation and landed with both feet solidly beneath me in the bed of the truck and then decided to carry my momentum into a back flip toward the two attackers who had jumped out to the side of the truck. I came up and over and landed with a foot on each of their shoulders, and then came through with my fists on the sides of their heads. Originally the driver was going to get out and help his friends, but as I came whipping around toward him, he being next. He closed the door and gassed the truck and away he went in a billowing cloud of dust. When the danger was over, my perception came back to normal.

it occurred to me that the big secret of the Martial Arts is this Loading of Time with a speed up of Data, which, like Slow Motion Filming, tends to make things seem slower only became more information is being pushed through per the same rate of playback. I suspect it happens to everybody when a certain kind of adrenalin hits and that we are often not conscious of having followed that information. For instance, in Real Life I once had a Motorcycle Accident. A Witness to it said I hit the truck that pulled out in front of me, and jumped straight up off of the bike, clearing the windscreen and handlebars, flipped several times through the air, landing on my feet, but forming into a crouched up ball to go head over heels a few times until I was going slow enough to straighten out and run off the rest of the forward momentum. The only thing I remember was the impact and then suddenly running down the road ahead of the accident scene, and thinking, how in the hell did I get here.
