      this was scary

      hey
i just started with lucid dreaming.. Ive only had one so far..and even that was pretty mild.. but im remembering a dream that happened to me a long time ago that freaked me out:

it was real. i think i was lucid without even knowing waht lucid meant. it was a dream i didnt want to be in so when i tried to wake up, i think i jus barely woke up and i was paralyzed!! i couldnt move! i tried to scream but im not sure if it came out. i went back into my dream and woke up later with mobility.

this same thing happend to me like a week later.

anyone kno what happend to me?

That is sleep paralysis, it happens to everyone when they sleep to prevent them from acting out their dreams. It's nothing to worry about.

Its best to face your fears. When lucid and realizing its a dream you have nothing to fear. The scary character if there is one will often change and you will concur that fear and it may never return again if you face it head on.

i think he means conquer. i'm not trying to be a dick or a spelling nazi, but "concur" is also a word, it means to agree with. so when i first read it i thought he meant you will agree with the fear. it confused me so i thought it might confuse others. unless you really did mean he will agree with the fear, dreamtamer007.

      Yup

This happens to everyone once in awhile. The brain haven't activated your muscles yet, it still thinks you are sleeping. You can open your eyelids only barely, thats why you won't be able too see very clear. It lasts for a much shorter time than you actually think, but it might be quite
a scary experience if it hasn't happened before.

I have been also paralysed more then 1 time :S

Well, that was about a year ago... usually i had only 5 hours of sleep and mybe that effected it...

It was when i went to bed.... i closed my eyes ... but then they kinda opened and i was like unable to move That really freaked me out thou.... and i still didn't know what the hell was that.... but i ordered the book of LaBerge and then I found what really happened....
Paralysis happens when ur trying to awake (usually) or when ur trying to go asleep (the one i had).. LaBerge said that ur 1 step in real life and 1 step in Dreamworld... It's also possible to get lucid from that paralysed stage... [ Twin Bodies Tehnique, The One Body Tehnique, etc...]

But LaBerge says that paralysis is harmless so theres nothing to be afraid of.... the answer is to relax when it appears again....

So i guess theres nothing to worry =)
