I still want LDing to be known to the whole world, just waiting for it <.<
I think lucid dreaming should remain part of a small minority. Things who get spread, get distorted. the world is full of cases like that.
Yes, but I think more people should know about it.
FOX NEWS AT 10:Pretty much what would happen if LDing went mainstream.Quote:
Do you know what YOUR kids are dreaming about? Expert says Lucid Dreaming may cause more violent behavior than video games!
Agree, but only by the Lucid Dreamer - Newbie mode... Explaining:
Someone, someday hears a guy talking about a lucid dream he had, and then, after searching the subject on the net, the next day that dude comes up and ask the lucid dreamer if can explain to him, better, how to become a lucid dreamer....agree?
A little of both, I think.
I can envision a day where we merge videogames and LD together. LDeogames. Multiplayer, too. Machines would provide physics and a stable environment.
Mostly for spreading info, but for reaching more people to. I think that only people inclined toward dreaming would watch it anyway.
A little of both I would like my friends to know about lucid dreaming because then it would be something we could talk about. When I usually talk about lucid dreaming people just think it's weird.
Yes and no. I would like more people to know about it, but at the same time that would probably corrupt it a little. There would be so many "more" scams with supplements and lessons. Plus people would just get annoying with it. I remember when Inception came out. I told someone about lucid dreaming after they saw it, I told them that it's possible to do whatever they want in their dreams. Next thing I know they bring a totem to school and think they're going to master it in one night. I told them it takes a bit more work than spinning a top ever couple hours. They completely lost interest and as far as I know haven't given LDing a thought since. I think that's where the general public is with lucid dreaming, most people would want to but couldn't be bothered. So it probably could never truly be mainstream.
Speaking of scams...anyone remembers the "stop drop and roll" bulls**t? What´s the name of the guy who was spreading misinformation? I cant remember it.... I saw his video once on youtube, and i laugh my a** of whe he said "you will have LOTS and LOTS of OBE´s each night"
I immediatly imagine myself trying to get to the fridge for a glass of milk in the middle of the night, and keep falling on the floor due to the "LOTS and LOTS of OBE´s"
 :boogie:
That only works if you stop and drop on your head and then roll.
When I say I am a lucid dreamer, people are looking at me in a strange way...
Like wtf dreaming is for dude! Don't even bother keep track of them!?!
I'd like more people to know about lucid dreaming.
I like lucid dreaming being a rather unknown topic, it allows us to go on without the usual idiots that pop up in anything that's popular. once an internet thing is popular, it's only a matter of time until the creeps, sluts, idiots, and general butt holes flood in.
I 'want' different things on different levels. Some selfish part of me wants it to be abnormal so that I can feel special (unique is the wrong word, because unique technically means 'only one of'). On another, I care about the well-being of other people and would like others to know about lucid dreaming.
I don't think the world mentality is ready for vast lucid dreaming. The "population at large" might slander those who LD as pretenders and weaklings who don't face reality.
I don't have a problem with LD becoming wide spread. Worst case scenario, people brand LDing as another form of drug or addiction... and it's really not something anyone can stop you from doing anyway. Best case scenario, it becomes popular, the LD community grows and more LD techniques and advancements are made.
This is also a good point. I'd hate to see this place turn into the next Gaia or 4chan.
*shudder* I sincerely hope that never happens. It would be like that brief time that we got the flood of new people because of inception. It was question after question about totems, shared dreaming etc. But I don't think it'll ever happen. I've been visiting this site for years and it seems to more or less stay the same. :)
Haha, at the very least, staying secretive gives us something to gloat about. Like we're in a member's only club :P.
