      Great Luck, Big Failure. Help?

I posted this a couple days back in another subforum and no one commented. So I'm reposting it here. Help please?

I tried to do a WILD last night. I woke up at 4:88 (Lol? Thats the time I remember waking up at) right before 5 o'clock. (which is when I set my alarm for).

I turned off my alarm because I was like "Oh, sweet I must be right before REM because I woke up naturally"

I tried to do some reality checks.
      1. I heard a humming noise, it was my computer. All good so far
      2. I made sure this blanket was still hanging off my door. Good.
      3. Tried to breath through my nose. Didn't work. Good.
      4. Tried sticking thumb through hand, didn't work. GOOD.

So I laid down so that my knees kinda ached a little bit. I layed there and played the word game to get my mind wandering.

"House, building, doors, windows, walls, 'lil jon, eminem, mockingbird"
That game. (Keeping track of my pain anchor ofcourse.)

I don't remember when I fell asleep, but I remember when I woke up.

I woke up and I did NOT move. I tried to DEILD, which failed. But lucky I had another chance to DEILD, but I failed again.

I had like 4 regular dreams but I only can remember two, which I wrote down.

      Where did I go wrong?

Your thinking about it to much just lay back and relax. Just let your mind wander.

Think about it this way. How do you fall sleep? You let your mind wander and then you eventually end up falling asleep. If you thinking about something then you don't allow yourself to fall asleep your mind is set on something else. So next time you try to WILD or DEILD just let your mind wander and use your pain anchor so you don't actually fall asleep. You just use the anchor to just keep yourself from passing out and to staying aware enough to transition into a dream.

      Sorry if thats confusing.
Current status: Practicing my WILD method.

There is no absolute right way to have an induced lucid dream however, I can tell you from experience that one should visualize something peaceful at bedtime. Allow your mind to visually wander... imagination and dreaming occur in the same area of our big human brain. I would also recommend some relaxation exercises and possibly some deep breathing techniques.
