      How do you know?

      Greetings,

How do you know you are lucid and not simply dreaming that you are? This happened to me last week - I was in the dream and went "I'm lucid, I'm lucid, this is gonna be great!" I passed through walls, something I always do when dreaming that I am astral projecting. Or am I actually astral projecting while asleep and dreaming about it at the same time? Anyway, I tried to fly but had limited success. I wanted to fly out into space but stayed close to the ground, and could not go farther. I asked a woman in the dream, "What does this mean?". She said, "It doesn't mean beans!". After that I woke up and immediately thought, "that wasn't a lucid dream, I only dreamed it was". Is there something about a true lucid dream that makes it absolutely clear you are lucid and not dreaming you are? Anyone else have this experience? It has happened to me a few times now.

      Robert

Hey I have exactly the same question..
This happened 1 month ago to me when I was dreaming I became lucid and trying to teleport some hot girls into my room.
But when I woke-up I was like... WTF?! if this was a lucid dream it sux! is was so unreal like it never happened I only dreamed that I had a lucid dream.
(Btw, I had this 4 times or something)

If you're lucid in a dream, a way to check to make absolutely sure you're dreaming is to do an RC. It seems a little paradoxical ( I don't know if that's the right word) to say you only dreamed that you were having a lucid dream. I understand what you meant though, it seems like your dream wasn't very vivid. You should try clarity techniques like dream spinning and paying close attention to details.

Sometimes your mind can be a little fuzzy and you may not fully grasp the fact that you're in a dream. I suggest taking a few moments to RC, improve the clarity, and assure yourself out loud that you're lucid dreaming. Don't allow your mind to wander off, keep yourself grounded.

I had a dream that I was knew I was dreaming but really it was just like me watching a movie. So it was really nothing at all, I was near lucid once.. I done RCs and was thinking I was dreaming but wasn't fully convinced. Not like I was going to jump out of a car or anything to see if I was or not.
Let your sub-conscious take over in your dreams until you one day may have the ability to take the wheel!

What RCs do you use? If done properly, RCs should remove all doubt that you might be awake.
