Totems

Well, I where thinking of the idea that if you carried a totem all day long, and had it as an RC. I mean that you would realise that you are dreaming if it's not in your pocket or something. But I also thought about that it could be a really big part of your life if you carried it all the time, so you starts to dream about it.

So what do you guys think? Would this work? If/if not then why? share your opinions

The point of totems in the movie were to make sure that you weren't in someone else's dream.

In your case the totem would act as a reminder to do a reality check. The term totem doesn't really apply, and people have tried this technique by simply writing RC on their hand. Looking at the thing in your pocket isn't enough, because as you said, you would eventually start dreaming about it. It must be coupled with an RC. If the object works for you as a reminder to RC, the that's good, I think you should do it.

I do not need a tolem to know whether I'm dreaming or in reality. Its obvious to me. My body will feel different in dream, the feeling when I try to walk..everything.

Jag hade ett liknande ''totem'' föremål innan filmen kom till.. jag hade det som mitt RC förmål istället för en klocka eller något sådant.. Pingvinen bär en text undertill med mitt namn varav jag inte kan läsa i drömmar så.. den har funkat ganska bra för mig.

I used a ring for a while a year or 2 back It had a few symbols on it, i used it mostly as a reality check every time something was slightly unusual look at the ring and try and interpret the symbols, it worked quite well but iv since lost it so now just draw 3 eyes on my hand to remind me to RC.
