      dream drugs...

i'm not sponsoring the use of drugs but i just had a dream where i was in my old front yard and a radio was on. the announcer was saying, and i can recall this perfectly, "folks, it's been proven! doing coke before work will make you late an average of 5 minutes! that's right my friends, all you people who sport a little peruvian lady before a big day, you're all LATE!" at this point i looked to my side yard to see a guy selling coke. i bought some, went to my room, drew out a few lines then did one. the feeling in my head was amazing. i have never done coke before but the euphoric feeling i got in this dream was just too much. well the first line lasted a while, then the euphoria lost it's touch on me. i did another line, the euphoria was shorter this time. i did this until i was doing several lines at a time to sustain a euphoria for more than 5 seconds. i remember seeing one of my parents pull up in the driveway and i remember feeling ashamed.

well, so far i've done coke, shrooms, and an assortment of pills in my dreams, all of which effect my mind on tremendous levels... so here's my question... how many and what drugs have you done in your dreams? do they have a big effect on you? can you explain the feeling? i can't.

I often smoke mara-ja-wanna in my dreams - i to love the feeling of pure e

Its hard to describe the feeling (i totally agree). When i take drugs in a dream, they effect me the same as i am awake, prob more so

The greatest thing about taking drugs in your dreams is that it doesnt effect your waking life - you get the same effects of using a drug and the experience of euphoria without the downfall or feeling of addiction.

That sounds like a really interesting dream you had

SIDE NOTE: can we talk about drugs? i feel that Dream Views needs a sort of 18+ fourm so we can talk about drugs, dont want people reading this who are under 18 (lol).

I don't think I've ever done drugs in dreams. Just real life.

Drugs almost ruined my life. I don't do them anymore. Would like to try it in a dream though. Anyone know where I can score? Lol

It would probably be wise to refrain from drugs even in your dreams.

Years ago when I was trying to quit smoking cigerettes, the prelude to going back to smoking would be that I would find myself smoking in my dreams. What you do in your dreams will simply want to come out also in waking manifestation. I finally knew I had kicked the habit when in my dreams I could consistently throw the cigerettes away (and they would seem to grow by the pack in my shirt pockets, or even appear from nowhere already lit in my hand. I simply had to keep tossing them away).

Unfortunately is is difficult for an old hippy to turn down a high in a dream. But it needs to be considered that the Drug Highs are only shadowy substitutes for the best Religious, Mystical and Spiritual Experiences. For instance, if you could awaken your Kundalini in a Dream, every chakra that would open would give you the experience of an almost electric orgasm kind of sensation... but without the necessity of cleaning up afterward. Certainly some of the Sensory Intensifications experienced during Lucid Dreaming could rival any psychodelic experience, while having a more coherent subjective content.

Dream drugs have always seemed kind of boring to me.

I've done Ecstasy and various hallucinogens in my dream. I sometimes get visual distortions (much more striking than the visual distortions I get on real hallucinogens) and I always the feeling that walking takes no effort, which would make sense, because I'm not really moving my body from my bed.

I've also smoked pot and forgotten everything that happened afterwards.

Oh, a note on why perhaps drugs, or anything else you ingest, may help in lucid dreaming -- it may be that poisonous or toxic substances, in killing you a little bit, release a great deal of psychic energy, sort of inducing a kind of 'mini- near death experience'. This is why herbs like valeriurm and bella donna which are in fact lethal in sufficient dosages, seem to help in lucid dreaming or in astral projection -- the Spirit wants to flee from a poisoned body, and the slowly dying body is releasing sufficient Life Energy to intensify the experience.

But one need not need necessarily to take actual poisons to fascilitate Lucid Dreaming, as you could simply starve yourself -- what the Spiritual and Religious People call 'fasting'. Fasting has always been the preferred way of dying just enough to engender strong Religious and Spiritual Experiences, mostly, I suspect, because it is the cheapest and most readily implementable way of killing oneself just enough. Drugs cost money and they need to be procured, but it costs nothing to simply skip about 14 or 15 meals. Also, where toxic poisons may leave lasting damage in the body -- and a damaged body will have problems ever re-charging up the energy which had once been spent and enjoyed in whatever Spectacular Vision, Dream or Astral Adventure, but a starved body once fed again can of course be completely recharged. In fact, the body gets used to it. If you notice about people who have chronically put themselves on weight loss diets -- a form of starvation -- their bodies become adapt at recovering, and their metabolisms become acutely efficient, and Dieters will be able to put more caloric intake to fat storage than people who had never restricted their diets at all. So we have people who are ever thin and yet eat like pigs, because their metabolisms are heedless and lazy and quite take more than sufficient food for granted -- passing most calories directly through the system; and then we have people who have dieted or fasted who will put on weight if they eat more than about 40% of what the dietery experts say is 'normal'.

I've done shrooms in my dream, and LSD. Since I am incredibly absorbed in psychadelic drugs, I love them I love them

Besides pot, which I don't really do all that much, I just love my psychadelic drugs. This summer I am ordering some 2c-i and some 5-MeO-DMT online. If people understand drugs, like truly understand them, then they should make their own choices. For me I have spent close to the last 2 years with my eyes in books related to drugs, internet sites, more books, some medical manuals, and even more books. Most people who don't understand psychadelics are scared of them and think your crazy to take them, I've seen people I love in jail because of heroin, I'm glad my mom stopped smoking cigarettes.

My father and step mother think I am stupid, a drugged up hippy, and I didn't know what I was talking about drugs. They told me everything on the internet about drugs was a lie, etc. Anything I read on the internet about drugs I have always found out if it was true or not from the library. The non biased medical manuals on drugs at college campuses don't like

Just to show how stupid my father is, he forbid me to speak of lucid dreaming to anyone in my family, saying it was part of that "stupid hippy drug culture bullshit"

I think my dad would make a great D.A.R.E representative.

I condone the use of drugs

What of people who do know about psychodelics and think it inadvisable to take them? Are you familiar with cultural history? All the Hippies from the sixties and early seventies, they weren't all killed in the Vietnam War. And they aren't still on the same steady diet of hallucinogenenic drugs as back then. They stopped. Maybe you should wonder Why?

Afterall, it seems reasonable to suppose that normal people would eventually get tired of taking drugs that will make them sick to their stomachs only so they can see the carpet crawl for couple of hours. What Enlightening Experiences the psychodelic drugs deliver, are never particularly built upon, and after the Experience is repeated often enough, it becomes normalized... even hohum. Hippies used to joke about going to the diner and drinking coffee until they would sober up and straighten out, just so they could have a New Experience. Tripping was no longer a big deal, and became even a bit annoying.

Maybe you should ask your Father how he seems to know so much. Maybe he does understand. It seems like you might be the one behind the learning curve. How many years of your life do you need to waste on the same ol' same ol'. These drugs will not lead you any further than you are already into any positive results or realizations, but they can further disrupt your life. Already your family does not trust you, and do you suppose that the image that you project to your family is not the same repugnant image that strangers and acquaintences might be too polite to tell you to your face?

      Me too.

Yesterday afternoon, I was walking around on my hands with my feet floating behind/above me. I walked into my kitchen and looked at the oven and saw my reflection ... my legs didnt even look like legs, it was like a colorful wierdness (kinda like a genie's tail thing?). All while being lucid.

I've done alot of drugs, none of which have given me an experiance like that at all!

btw, i quit drugs ... now i just drink alot o bir
      Just let me go..

I haven't ever done drugs in a dream. It does suck that we live in a society that will keep legal drugs which are addictive and can do severe damage to the brain and liver among other organs yet a drug that has zero physical addiction potential can land you in jail. When dealing with psychedelic drugs, jail time is what ruins most of the user's lives, not the drug itself(there are exceptions to this). But I do feel that they are not for everyone. Some people take it just to party, but there are others who take it to learn something about themselves and their mind. Everyone has their own opinion on drugs whether it is through the false rumors that have been spread by our government or by actual scientific data. Either way there is no such thing as a safe drug and each user should be educated extensively about it.

Leo, you seem knowledgeable about a lot of various topics and I respect your opinion, but I must disagree on your belief about how drugs can help a lucid dream. When a drug is taken it does not kill you a little causing a mini near dear experience. The drug simply affects the natural chemistry of your body (such as does food, only in a more focused and profound way). In fact I would say that most common recreational drugs would actually keep a LD from happenning since a lot of these drugs cause the user to be wide awake (LSD, Cocaine, MDMA, etc.). I think starving oneself for a long period of time would be more physically damaging than using a normal dose of a psychedelic. Then again I have never starved myself so I wouldn't know.

      This has me curious:

At risk of sounding like a boring never-before-taken-a-hit square, would taking any "illegal" substance in an LD give me the same effect, since I haven't experienced it in real life?

I stayed away from drugs through school and college (and believe me, there was plenty around in art school) because I was affraid I'd end up "hooked" and ruin my future. Now I got the career going great and all but sometimes wish I had "lived it up" a little - mostly because I just feel like I've left out something that's simply a substancial part of growing up these days. But, if I could experience what you all have in an LD, that would be the next best thing I suppose.

      Actually Joe,

I think Lucid Dreaming beats any drug, NO CONTEST. If you become a skilled LD'er, I guarantee you'll be ahead of the game, because you'll have any high you could possibly want, probably better than what you imagine the real thing to be, and no nasty side-effects to deal with.

I did the party scene in high school and college, and yes it had it's positive aspects, mostly social in nature. But knowing what I know now, I would have traded A LOT of my drug experiences for extended lucid dreams without hesitation.

And a P.S. to the folks arguing back and forth about whether everyone should do drugs, it's pretty simple:

If you think everyone should do drugs, you're an idiot.

If you think no one should do drugs because "drugs are bad," you're also an idiot.

Drugs are tools, they can help you or hurt you depending on how they're used and like any dangerous tool, some people should never pick them up, while others seem to handle them quite safely and responsibly.

Similiar tools that come to mind are FIRE, MEDICINES, and ELECTRICITY,

You wouldn't outlaw CARS if your neighbor accidentily hurt themselves or even someone else in one would you? So why do we have a no tolerance policy on drugs? Hmm...

In summary, to refer to drugs as "good" or "bad" is about as logical as saying the same thing about FIRE. Fire just is. As are drugs. Not everyone should do drugs in the same way not everyone should handle fire. On the other hand, some of us handle fire quite well, and don't necessarily need advice on the subject.

If we can all start to be a little more reasonable about drugs without all the moral preachings, we might actually help both sides of the arguement learn a thing or two!

      Thank You For Your Support

I imagine it would give you whatever effect you expected it to. Since you would have no frame of reference for the "real" thing, you'd have no way of knowing if it was the same effect -- and I doubt that it would be.

Doing mushrooms in real life was a lot different from doing them in dreams so i don't know if it would be the same for you. If you have never done the drug that you are dreaming about then the only things you have to base it on are what you have heard and your imagination.

      Well said, Pandragon.

I wouldn't mind giving a few things a try in dreams, like MJ and shrooms, but I can't see it becoming my favorite thing to do while lucid. It's one of those things that I'd expect to be interesting to try once or twice, but there's so much else to do that's so much more interesting. I have a similar attitude in waking life, though I choose not to use any drugs. There are just other things I'd rather do with my life.

My 7th grade teacher once said something along the lines of "It would be nice if everyone could get a clean dose of a drug, try it for the experience, and then quit." Too bad things are rarely so simple.
Well life is short, so love the one ya' got, 'cause you might get run over or you might get shot.

I love psychadelic drugs, those are a real tool for taking a plunge into the inner workings of your mind I know people in prision who are close to me for heroin, my moms husband (not my father) has been a heroin addict since he was 14...generally I stay away from opiates, done 20 mg oxy once with a friend, we split a 40 mg pill in half and railed it. I like the way I heard someone describe opiates, it's like being wrapped in a huge comforter and getting a blowjob at the same time

Besides psychadelic drugs I smoke MJ, people I know think I am some huge drug user, because I spent the last couple years of my life studying drugs, the reality is that I trip maybe once every couple months, and smoke even less than that, besides in the summer. Can't smoke to much during school, would never get a thing done
