Best way to speak to your subconscious?

What do you all think is the best way to speak to your subconscious? Without dreaming and whatnot.

Presently I can't recall what it's called (automatic writing, possibly), but with a pen and paper, asking questions with your lead hand and writing the answers with your non-lead hand is a good way to flush out subconscious thoughts. I've come across some pretty bizarre and interesting stuff with which to ponder over and use to write fiction.

Your subconscious mind wont make any good on you, you need to work on your consciousness that's the key that's the one that tells you "HEY this is a dream!"

Well I think maybe interviewing dream characters could be good, but not anyone you know in real life or you would just get mainly answers that you would expect them to say. So I guess I would interview myself (like a copy of me), or a psychologist, and if you believe in God, maybe interview him/her.

For me, I interviewed random dream characters and a psychologist.

@ ramspirit, that is not true at all. There is a reason you write down your dreams every day, to tell your subconscious mind they are important and need to be remembered etc. At Louie, I was thinking more of a real life application, not while dreaming

Yes, that's what I mean. If you do have trouble, just remember to keep asking questions. This will provoke your subconscious into answering, which might not happen if you write a statement and expect a reply; an answer is easier.

It's probably easier to summon a dream guide during a lucid dream and get he/she/it to teach you how to speak with your subconscious in real life.

wait, so you ask with your lead hand and just put your non lead hand on the paper and it will move out of your control?

Yes, mooseantlers, but not quite OH MY GOD MY HAND IS ALIVE (although this can happen with certain, deeper methods); you just write the first thing that comes into your head.
