      extremely weird experience, please help!

I had such a strange thing happen to me last night!!!

I will tell you what happened before I went to sleep in case it affected anything

I went to my sisters house, around 5....intending to stay the night there (I walked there) I brought crap over. My nephew had a friend over, I played with them, played on the computer, blah blah blah. I talked to my mom, she said she would be home around 11 and I wanted to go back to my house; so I called my mom to ask her to call me when she was on her way home (she was 50 mins away) I was feeling tired, so I laid down at my sisters house around 10, I sorta ish fell asleep kinda, then my mom called and said she was 30 mins away which woke me up, I dozed off, then she 30 mins later saying that she was closer. I got my stuff ready and waited, she got there about, (the reason I didn't just walk back home was because it was severely thunderstorming outside) 11:20, when we got home I went straight up to bed. I was laying in bed by 11:30. I have been in sort of a dryspell so I decided to set alarms, I got my ipod and set an alarm for 4,5 1/2 and 6 1/2 hours after being asleep. I used an app on my ipod for this, and I put on my over the ear headphones. I wanted to try something new for an LD, so I decided to try VILD and dream incubate. So I started off of me in a white room with the words reality check and lucid dream on the wall, I thought of myself doing RCs and walking out of the room and I acted out every thing I would do in the LD. This started at about 11:45 and finished at 12:15. I continued thinking of LDing and fell asleep very shortly afterwards. This is where it gets weird. (I have experienced something like this back in Sept)

I am laying in a lawn chair, reading a magazine, at night, in the backyard of a house. I try to get up, but couldn't, It was like an OBE thing....I then realize I am "dreaming", I am then in my bedroom laying in bed, I can't open my eyes. I hear my mom saying something, but I couldn't speak, I was screaming but no sound came out. I could sort of view myself from 3rd person perspective but still feel it in 1st person at the same time. I could move but I was struggling. I had a laptop on my lap. I was trying to get up but was "Stuck" I kept getting false awakening things where I woke up from this but was still in this frozen sort of pain. I think this was SP bleeding through. Then I finally wake up, I feel very sore, (SP), and I check the time.....it was only 12:40. (later that night I had a vivid dream and an amazing LD due to another dream incubation VILD thing)

can someone tell me what happened.....

Ah, this is because you had already slept a couple times before hand. You must have woken up right before your REM cycle when your mom came. When you went to lay back down and attempt the VILD, you triggered the REM cycle even though you lost consciousness and fell asleep. As soon as you started dreaming, you became lucid.

About your dream. It sounds to me like you had some stability issues and you still had that connection to your waking body. This is likely what made you feel SP a bit. I have never had an OBE and don't know a whole lot about them, so I can't help you determine whether it was that or not. It sounds to me like it was simple a DILD with some stability problems. Congrats on achieving lucidity though!

thanks ^^ it was quite odd, though because I just couldn't move and it was so early on
but the one thing is that when I fell asleep earlier I wasn't asleep for any longer than say, 25 minutes, could REM of kicked in already?

Yeah, the REM cycle won't always start at the same point each time. There are a lot of factors that can alter the REM cycle (sleep deprivation, excessive sleep, alcohol, drugs/medicine, certain foods, stress, etc.). Generally, it takes a couple hours to get started, but not always.

Generally, it does. Nothing with dreaming is constant though. I would definitely avoid the word "always" when it comes to lucid dreaming or dreaming in general . REM has a lot rebound potential brought on by the factors I listed.

I had something slightly similar to this:

I woke up from my sister making a bunch of noise, so I shouted at her and got kind of mad. I fell asleep with this anger attached to my emotions.
I had an extremely vivid dream, which I had a false awakening to my sister making more noise. I got up and went over to hit her (I never hit her so I'm not sure why I did this). However, when I hit her, my arms felt like jelly.

This may be similar to what you were talking about with the SP bleeding through. It hurt to move my arms, however, I felt no soreness when I got up.
      Keep dreaming.
