      Forced WILD?

I tried to do a forced WILD last night. It seemed to be working until my eyes started to hurt really bad! I opened them and everything was blury and colorful. Has anyone been able to force a WILD without falling asleep before hand?

When I do a normal WILD I just see pictures in my head that are going to be dreams. When I forced this one I felt like I was flying though the blackness of my eyes when I closed them. It felt darker and darker and kept getting wider until this really nasty pain started in my eyes.

Are you talking about trying WILD when you first go to sleep. I have the same experience where what you see with your closed eyes keeps expanding and you feel totally surrounded by darkness sort of. But Ive never entered a dream without being asleep first waking up and then WILDing.

Yes it feels like that! Do your eyes start to feel like they roll back then you start to see colors and feel pain?

It feels like I'm crossing my eyes after awhile, I can't tell if I am or not and if I think about it too much I lose focus. But they do start to hurt after awhile and then I'll usually just go to sleep. But after waking and then trying WILD the experience is much different, and the challenge is staying aware as I fall back asleep, rather than trying to induce visuals and all.

I had my first succesful WILD a few days ago and I did it at the time I went to sleep (forced, as you would call it I guess).

I don't remember having pain in my eyes, however, other times I tried doing WILD I've noticed that eventually it gets difficult to keep my eyes shut. You may want to try getting a blindfold or cover your eyes with either a rolled up hand towel or another pillow. This will keep your lids closed and let you relax your eyes as you try to WILD. This "pain" might just be your eyelids getting weak from trying to keep them closed.

I've been starting to suggest myself to wake up after the first dream and then I try different techniques.. Yesterday night I had something more like a WILD. It was spontaneous though, I didn't try it or anything and it was really really fast, I just started dreaming right away. I had false awakenings that night and most/if not all we're lucid. I just woke up and tried to get up. I woke up. Then I thought hey, I'll try again but I'll try toc become lucid. Try again, Held my nose, but still couldnt get up. After numberous times of trying to get up with different techniques, I put my legs on the floor, and stood up. Opened my eyes and let go of my nose. Yay. I walked about 10-20 metres and woke up once more and then started sleeping normally...
Lucid dreams: 12 (woke up too early on each)
