      In love with my fan

Ever since about 8 or 9 years ago or so, I've been using a fan to help me fall asleep. It's soft hum just helps me to relax and I also like the fealing of it's wind on my face.

But anyways I was wondering if the fan's humming and wind could restrict dream recall and/or lucid dreaming in any way. Any thoughts would be helpful, but I just love my fan so much!

Probably not. It might even help you LD, because you'll hear that humming noise the fan makes and it'll help you suddenly think "this is a dream!".

You might end up with dreams being related to wind alot though (hurricanes, etc).

My ex could never get to sleep without the fan on. For me, it's the hum of my computer. I'm not sure what it is about certain sounds that help us fall asleep. I mean, it's not as though the sounds of a computer are very soothing, now, is it? But it works. As for dream recall, I'm not sure how sound affects dream recall. As far as I can tell, whether I fall asleep to sounds or silence, my dream recall has been unchanged. I wonder if it's like that for everyone, though?

yeah, its almost impossible for me to fall asleep in MY bed without the fan on, if i'm at someone elses house, i dont mind much, but it still takes a long time to fall asleep.

ps-i was wondering the same thing about how it could help or prevent LD

      Woohoo!

I get to keep my fan!

I guess my fan isn't the problem then. I'll just have to keep working at LD'ing. Thanks for your replies.

I love the fan! I simply cant sleep without it on. Even when its cold in the room already I just turn it on. I think I just do it out of habit now.

Either one of those will give you a good overview of the game.
