I started reading it but got distracted by school. I probably would have been better off dropping out and reading the book, but I guess degrees are important. I understood most of it, but even if you only understood a little bit I'm sure you learned a lot. Great book.

Haha, thanks Mzzkc. Though I think you misinterpreted Ladusence's response. I don't think he was seriously arguing your points at all; it sounded instead like he was also kidding in the very same vein that you were, just pretending to be the wholehearted supporter character rather than the harsh critic. Though, I could be wrong; his "even if it wasn't seriously his life goal" statement is fishy (why would he acknowledge the very idea we're playing up ignorance of?), but I hope he was kidding because his response is really funny if read in the appropriate tone.

As to the "true topic" (is there any?); visiting South Park in an LD is actually a really interesting idea. I'd like to see how my mind would make the transition between reality and cartoon, and would my mind be able to come up with comedy on the spot to accurately reflect the shows?

Given the dude's completely straight-faced post history, I highly doubt he was being satirical. Indeed, I think he was being completely serious.

Yes, it'd be funny either way, considering how absurd it is to consider restricting your goals in life to experiencing a manufactured world "freedom." Something about imagination, or pushing the boundaries of reality, on the other hand, sure, I could see that.

Still, I'd be happy to admit I'm wrong. Because the alternative would be heartbreaking.

No but in all seriousness, I was being satirical because I assumed he was making a joke. Although I tend to make assumptions readily, so I may be/probably am wrong.
