      Memories...

Ok so short introduction. I am very interested in lucid dreaming. Something I have not yet accomplished to any satisfactory level whatsoever. My dream recall is minimal. I do recall dreams pretty clearly when I am sleeping during the day. meh random info. I guess I get too excited about becoming lucid. When I actually realize I am dreaming and want to change, manipulate, or create things it the dream fades, I wake up. anyway not really the point of my thread but a short intro I guess. Even when I realize I am dreaming its not like reality. It's like I'm using a 4th of my mind. Very shallow, basic thought.

Anyway, my real questions are (I did do a search but found nothing similar enough to answer) Can dream conciousness be as, I guess, full as waking conciousness. How complete can lucidity be?

And most importantly, Can lucid dreams be used to recall, excavate old, lost memories say of someone lost or of childhood. I forget a lot of things really easily. My youngest years and someone I cared deeply about. I know the memories are in there, that twisted head of mine.

      anyway.... I guess thats it.

Welcome to Dreamviews, SUCCESSOR. Lucid dreaming can be, depending on your level of proficiency, very clear and it is possible to attain a full level of conscienceness. However, it takes a lot of hard work. It is worth it, though! And, you can use lucid dreaming as a means of retrieving lost memories. If you choose to use them in this fashion, it is a very good resourse. Your brain has everything stored somewhere in there. I'm sure you'll find, that learning to use this in LD's will be rewarding, given the time and effort put into it.

First of all, Wellcome to Dreamviews!

I wish you good luck for your quest for lucidity. It's a difficult task. The point is NOT to give up. You may need 4 or more months! You may have one tonight. It's unpredictable. Anyway, from my experience, even remembering 1 dream per night is sufficient to remember a LD. In LD because of the excitement , it remains in your memory. Like a vivid dream. To be fully coscious is difficult (for me) , yet possible.

Yes, you can 'excavate' many things from your life. In my dreams I have remembered things that I couldnt do in awaking state. Maybe because in that period the subcoscious is dominant and is easy to bring stuff from it.

If you want you can do this: say in your LD "when I turn this corner, I will see my self as in childhood..." and boom!

Hehe, that's true. I have always the fear that there is a small possibility to jump out of a window ...thinking it's a dream

      1. lucid dreaming can easily be much more vivid than waking life and you can be even more rational.

      2. I have heard of people doing this, but like that other person said, your mind might make false memories, Iv heard of this happening as well. (eccept it was through hypnotising)
~I wake up a little more every time I dream.
