      how this happen???

So I tried lucid dreaming for like a whole year and got like 1 that I would even CONSIDER lucid (my LD count lies), and so of course I gave up. I haven't even thought about it for months... but last night, I was sicker than ever before with a SPLITTING headache and my thoughts running uncontrollably rampant and I eventually fell aslep.
Last night I had the most realistic vivid long dream I've ever had and when I woke up from it, I didn't move and of course wasn't trying any technique. But then I had the thought of a tactile technique that I read about... "feel a cell phone in your hand and once it feels pretty 'solid', you are probably dreaming." I tried this technique countless time before last night and it never got me lucid but I could always feel the phone very clearly in my hand. I thought it was a cool feeling so I tried it and immediately felt it completely in my hand. Then I remembered that you are appararently dreaming by then, so with absolute confidence that I wasn't dreaming, I opened my eyes to see a very thick iphone in my hand (I don't own one so you draw the conclusion). I was completely amazed that it actually worked. I was in some sort of space... never mind... I WAS LUCID! That's the point... I had two more complete lucids that night with the exact same technique... so my Q is why would this happen all of a sudden and not a few months ago.

EDIT: I FOUND IT GUYS THANKS TO BOBBLEHAT!!!

Yeah i've never heard of that technique but want to try it now...Anyways, when i get a migraine or a bad headache that can bring on lucid dreaming, its a known fact that headache can cause it, well they say migraines but even headache works for me..not sure as to why , maybe its the electrical current in your brain a headache may make it a little haywire hence a lucid dream..anyways glad you had such fun and gl in the future

I HAD NO IDEA about the headache thing... I thought it was the Tylanol !!

Maybe it had nothing to do with the technique D'x. Well I wont know until I try it. Ill mesh it with DEILD and post results tomorrow! Thanks for replying Angie... and nice profile pic ;D!

Not just headache but being sick... it often causes lucidity.

I have similiar experiences often when I am sick I have the most weird but long and vivid dreams, I don't know if the raise in body temperature could have anything to do with the functioning of the brain, or that its just that the body is acting out of the normal.
It could also be that when you are sick you seem to focus a lot on how you feel instead of the usual things, which could also make you focus on your feelings when you're dreaming which gives you an improved chance of getting lucid.

Another thing I notice is that if I have a lucid, I tend to have at least one more that night.

I ALWAYS KNEW THIS WAS TRUE BUT I NEVER THOUGHT ANYTHING OF IT!... If anyone ever figured out why, it my be a breakthrough about what dreaming and lucid dreaming is!

Sort of like an uber internal focus which is exactly what your dream body is.

They asked a legitimate question, no need to be so rude. Also, please do not double post, thanks.
