      What does this mean?

I'm still very intrigued by the fact that we able able to see, touch, taste, and hear in our dreams without have food in our mouths or light entering our pupils. We identify so much with our bodies but in truth they just help us carry out daily functions and our brain can do everything that it does. Anyone else think this is crazy?

the mind is an amazing tool . . . but to simulate all those different things isn't really that suprising from something as developed as the human brain. ya know?

I was thinking about this recently while trying to explain the concept of lucidity to a friend. My opinion is that while we dream (for example, of eating a strawberry), our mind consults our bodies for references. It remembers “Hmm, a strawberry tastes like this,” and thus, we taste a strawberry in our dreams. For things that the brain can’t understand, or can’t find via the body’s information, I think that our subconscious fills in the void with the closest thing that our brains will recognize (if you’ve never eaten a strawberry, the dream strawberry may taste like something else you have eaten—an apple, maybe).

I’m not sure if this theory is correct, as it’s just a silly opinion of mine, but I think it makes some sense. Our brains and bodies are such amazing things.

I think it's crazy-cool. I mean, I could just marvel at the amazing magnitude of the human brain for hours. It determines who you are, and has the power to pull up memories as if it were happing to you all over. And in dreams....Wow. It's amazing. That's why I always get overwhelmed after an LD. It's just too beautiful.

I just cant get over the fact that scientists study the light spectrum and everyone thinks we see with our eyes, but our vision is just as clear and maybe even clearer just because our brain is soooo powerful. Trippy!

Yup A Lost Soul hit it dead on the nose. The portion of the brain which holds long term memory is called the hippocampus and is stored there for a short period of time before being dumped out into the brains long term memory cortex. The cortex is the most operational protion of the brain during sleep. This is were all of your memories are kept. and its constantly communicating with the Parietal Lobe which controls your senses and the sensory cortex. The Parietal Lobe is by far the most exciting to me because in this portion of the brain displays your awareness and also to me the blind link into Lucidity.
