      Dreaming or projecting or lucid?

Hi! I'm new to the forum.. I found this site a few days ago and have been writing down my dreams since then. So far I have not managed to become lucid. Today I had a very interesting dream though and I am confused as to what it really was!

Basically I was in my bed, and I started to feel myself vibrate. Now, I've had this before, and I've read it is a part of astral projecting, but it always just stopped and that would be it. But this time it got more intense and after a while I was able to "push" myself out of my body and float upwards! I fell back down though and kept doing it over and over, falling, floating, falling, floating, until I was able to stay up for a longer time. I think at one point I heard my dad's voice and that made me fall down aswell.

Anyway so once I was up in the air, I think I tried to get through the ceiling but couldn't so I decided to go outside like a normal human LOL, and walked out of my room, past my dad and his girlfriend, down the stairs, into the living room where my brother was watching TV but couldn't see me. Then I decided to go outside and skip around. I think from the moment that I decided to start walking, everything started to feel dream-like. Before then it felt much more real. So perhaps I was projecting, and then fell asleep and proceeded to dream the rest?

Now I don't think I could have been lucid, because I THOUGHT it was real, like you would in any dream. There were even glaringly obvious dreamsigns and I still thought it was real! Things like my bed being in a different position, and at some points I "woke up" and my family were in my room BEHIND this bed which was in the wrong position. I never actually thought "oh! this must be a dream!"

Also I had sleep paralysis when I was waking up, but I was more aware of it than I have been before. I thought to myself "okay, I know this is scary, but I know that it doesn't last forever", and I even did reality checks on it lol, because I have suspicions that SP is just dreaming. Was definitly "awake" as it were. I also thought that I FELT it happen - I felt a wave come over my body, a paralysing wave. I felt that a few times. It also took longer to snap out of it.

So what do you all think?!?! Dreaming, projecting, lucid?!

PS - There were paint fumes in the house, would this have any effect?

I think the fumes may have had some effect, but I don't think they're to blame for everything though.

Lucid dreams can be pretty vivid. This very well could have been a lucid. You could have dreamt about astral projecting. It's not completely unlikely...

...or you could have projected, then suddenly returned to your body and dreamed. I'm not entirely sure; astral projection is not my forte.

I'd be very wary of paint fumes - I once slept in a newly painted room, and woke up unable to breathe!
So the fumes could have had a lot to do with it.

Unfortunately I couldn't really tell you since I'm also no AP or OOBE expert
