      WILD Vibrations

Only recently have I started experiencing WILDs, and they usually aren't on purpose. It usually happens in the last 2 hours of my sleep. I'll get up to go pee, and get back in bed, or simply wake up and then try to go back to sleep, and I'll still feel nearly intoxicated with sleep, seeing fairly vivid hypnagogic imagery, and I'll simply try to turn that into a dream.

Well last night I was doing this, and after about 1 minute of trying to go back to sleep, I felt like my body was starting to spasm and my neck started feeling stiff, and my jaw seemed like it was opening and closing. At first I was wondering if I was in danger, but then I figured it meant I was close to sleep, so I stuck it out. Then next thing I knew I was in a LD.

It almost seemed like I was having a very mild seizure, only no flailing, just mainly mild spasmodic and vibratory effects. Do other people experience this when going into a WILD? I know of vibrations, but I wasn't sure if this is what people are talking about, as I have not had this happen before.
Never stop searching for truth. In your search you may think you have found it, and perhaps you have, but if you hold on tightly to a single thread it will fray and it's greater meaning will become lost. There is always more truth stretching deep beneath the surface that promises to reveal ever greater the infinite, interwoven fabric of truth, woven in the looms of Heaven.

Though WILD is not my typical technique for LDing, I'm failrly certain that WILD is almost always accompanied with the initial vibrations. I've experienced it before... strong vibrations accompanied by loud sounds while in a transitional stage. I know you didn't mention anything about sounds, but anyway it is a very common experience. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but this vibrational stage is almost always assosciated with WILD.

This is quite common for people. I almost always experience this and it is normal. I've found that at times, it is centered on my spine, but at other times, feels like my entire body is going to fly apart. Really cool stuff!

Thanks for the replies. That's good to hear, I was a little worried about what was actually happening, but now that I know that those effects were normal, I can simply experience them with an anticipation of what they will lead to . I'm curious, though, if these are simply perceived bodily responses in your state of mind, or if they are being physically acted out during that time. I feel like if someone were to see me if that ever happened that they'd call for an ambulance or something, lol. It felt pretty intense, although not painful. Sometimes when I feel strange bodily movements or paralysis just prior to sleep, I instinctivly fight it instead of using it as a tool, possibly because I'm in a type of consciousness that plays by insticts more than reasoning.

I began to wonder that myself when I read that you felt your mouth was opening a closing. My guess is that there would be no physical action because of sleep paralysis, but I know it sure can feel like there is movement of some sort. Perhaps a second opion is needed here as well...
