First lucid dream in months

Ok this was my first lucid dream I had in months, The other morning I woke up, I have set my alarm clock to wake me up at 5am the night before. Suddenly I was sleeping, I woke up during that time, then I saw my digital clock. I looked at it and the numbers were messing. I was thinking, Wtf? For a moment. I also saw that the light on my digital clock was really bright so I couldn't see the numbers, they were completely gone. It was a really cool experience I have had. Then later I saw my brother sleeping, And my alarm clock radio went off and the my mind panicked. I told my self, CALM DOWN this is a dream calm down. And after that I did the rubbing hand technique to stabilize the dream to keep it from fading, It didn't work because I did it too fast. I was wondering what went wrong because I couldnt stay inside the dream. I saw my brother, he woke up and turned into a zombie and came in my room and killed me and I woke up. Any way, Could anyone please tell me what I did wrong? This was a really cool experience I ever had with a lucid dream, Everything felt so real and I had really good vision in the lucid. How can I make my Lucids stay longer? I'm also planning on picking up a DJ at the store when ever I go to one. So thanks.
